Job Description

The Talent Acquisition Specialist will lead the end to end success of the talent attraction and onboarding lifecycle. You will be accountable for understanding hiring needs across the organization.

You are the main point of contact for the leaders and hiring managers, helping them understand market conditions, internal barriers that might affect our ability to recruit and proposing solutions to overcome those challenges.

  • Client Advisory and management – collaborate with the HRBP, hiring managers, group or organization leads, and key partners to understand unique business and talent needs.
  • Candidate engagement and management – develop and execute sourcing plans to identify and recruit top talent, leading the candidate development process from identification and engagement to offer extension and closing
  • Identify and coordinate recruitment/talent acquisition and networking events, based on careers and employer brand marketing activities (i.e. job fairs)
  • Conduct behavioural and technical telephone and *in-person interviews to assess candidate’s ability to succeed in open positions. (*Note: some interviews will need to be conducted onsite)
  • Support management of relevant data systems, including candidate tracking and ad-hoc reporting requests
  • Advise and guide hiring managers on recruitment best practices and participate in selection of final candidates. Enforce the use of recruitment templates, evaluation grids and ensure the diversity and inclusion practices are adhered to and realized
  • Strong written and oral communication skills necessary to effectively work with hiring managers, applicants and candidates
  • Conduct innovative sourcing strategies by leveraging new platforms and social media to tap into passive BIPOC talent pools
  • Opportunity to contribute to/lead projects related to employer branding, coop and internship strategy and outreach, and diversity, equity, and inclusion community engagements
  • Maintain accurate and well-ordered documentation on candidates, searches, hiring manager interactions and other recruiting activities
  • Drive Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion through recruiting
  • Operational Improvements – continuously assess the efficiency of the recruiting function, recommend and implement process improvements to help drive better performance and results

Qualifications

  • Proven track record of success in a high volume recruiting role or talent acquisition role, having had responsibility for sourcing, screening, interviewing and hiring for multiple positions concurrently
  • 5 years (or more) experience in a corporate Talent Acquisition function including full life cycle, research, sourcing and client management
  • 2+ years of experience with reporting tools analysis leading to meaningful insights and action
  • At least 1 year working in a Recruiting Agency environment prefered
  • Experience and comfort partnering and consulting at all levels of leadership
  • Strong follow through and customer service orientation
