Job Description
The primary purpose of the Talent Acquisition Researcher is to undertake talent market research and talent mapping that enables the creation and maintenance of Talent Pools that can be utilised for identifying and recruiting candidates to scarce, niche, STEM and senior positions. The role holder is responsible for providing a focus and lens into the external market to provide strong market analysis and insights concerning emerging themes and trends that impact on Sellafield’s ability to secure key talent streams. With a strong understanding of recruitment brand placement and market gaps they will inform and support development of targeted resourcing strategies and associated projects.
Sellafield Limited is a large industrial organisation with more than 10,000 employees carrying out a diverse of roles (mix of blue and white collar, from junior administrators, to internationally recognised technical experts) employed on a number of different sets of terms and conditions, each supported by a number of complex historic agreements The organisation is heavily unionised with 3 recognised Unions representing 3 diverse worker groups each with their own unique issues and concerns. The organisation is currently going through a period of unprecedented change following the transition to a new value driven operating model, the end of reprocessing and the acceleration of risk and hazard reduction. As part of the transformation there are several work streams that are looking at changing how we work and how the organisation accesses people services and is enabled by our People Function.
Principal Accountabilities
• Conduct talent market research and talent mapping to identify potential candidates for scarce skills positions and create a talent pool for future recruitment.
• Engage with high potential external candidates to provide an excellent insight into Sellafield culture, roles and career paths, building on-going relationships to discuss current and future niche and scare skills opportunities and positions to create and maintain strong talent pipelines.
• Build a broad knowledge and understanding of talent markets and their fit with the broad range of roles at Sellafield.
• Undertake benchmarking activities against competitor and market activity to inform strategies and approaches for enhancing Sellafield’s recruitment brand placement, associated attraction strategies and the candidate/employee value proposition.
• Understand the current talent gaps in the business and identify priority focus in conjunction with key People function stakeholders.
• Inform and deploy talent acquisition strategies to ensure a strong talent pipeline and sizeable talent pools supporting on associated projects that develop from these strategies, along with appropriate monitoring and evaluation.
• Use and advise on the appropriate methods for sourcing and utilise internal databases, technology and social media (e.g. LinkedIn) to source, screen and attract talent for key and scarce/critical skills roles.
Knowledge & Experience
Graduate (minimum 2:2) in relevant discipline or equivalent educational achievement.
• CIPD level 5 (Assoc CIPD/AREC), or equivalent educational achievement (foundation degree/HND level) or a willingness to achieve this upon appointment.
• A broad level of professional Recruitment and HR knowledge and experience.
Essential Skills
• Demonstrable experience of recruitment, talent mapping and informing talent acquisition/recruitment strategies.
• Demonstrable experience of networking and building professional relationships in person and via social media.
• Hands-on experience with sourcing techniques (e.g. recruiting on social platforms such as LinkedIn).
• Knowledge of legislative and policy frameworks, including diversity.
• Familiarity with Recruitment, HR databases and candidate management systems.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Detail-oriented and a problem-solving mindset.
• Proactive and highly motivated.
• Assoc CIPD/AREC qualified or equivalent.
