CARE USA

CARE is an international NGO with local staff and community partners in more than 90 countries. We create local solutions to poverty and inequality and we seek dignity for everyone every day and during times of crisis. These solutions have a broad range, from clean water to access to education; from microfinance to ensuring that everyone has nutritious food; from agriculture and climate change to disaster response. CARE puts women and girls at the center of everything we do because they have proven to be the best hope for creating lasting change in the world. Our staff live where they work, which makes us effective at understanding the challenges they face. We’ve been doing this for over 70 years, since World War II. It started with the world’s first CARE Package® of food for the post-war hungry in Europe. Our work today is as important as ever, we believe that poverty and inequality are historic injustices that we can end within a generation, for good. If you share our core beliefs: poverty is an injustice; poverty is solvable; and together, we have the power to end it, join us, and fight with CARE

75 years ago, a small group of Americans sent the world’s first CARE package on a ship across the Atlantic. They refused to stand on the sidelines while millions of Europeans faced starvation. Much has changed since World War II but CARE’s commitment to helping people has not.

Today CARE is a leader in global development. Care staff strengthen health in Honduras. Advance gender equity in Ethiopia. Reduce poverty in Pakistan. Mitigate climate change in Cote d’Ivoire. With an annual budget of nearly $800 million and a global team of 7,500 CARE works in nearly 100 countries around the world to save lives, defeat poverty and promote social justice.

The Opportunity

We seek a clever coordinator to join our 10-person Talent Acquisition team. Someone who can schedule interviews across continents. Post ads with pleasure. Source candidates with software savvy.

  • Schedule interviews. How do you schedule interviews for 3 candidates from 3 countries with 3 interviewers on 3 continents? What is a dizzying exercise for some is a logic puzzle for you. With the help of Calendly software, you will schedule one-on-one and panel interviews for top level positions, balancing efficiency with participation.
  • Conduct research. Candidates find us through ads and others through outreach. You will post job advertisements and help find candidates through industry associations, internet searches, association websites, and places we haven’t even thought of.
  • Be the software sage. Just as “all roads lead to Johannesburg” in Alan Payton’s famous novel, “All roads lead to Taleo” in recruiting. Taleo is where we store applicant information, interview feedback, and candidate correspondence. We need you to be the Master of our Taleo Universe. To upload documents into the system, teach others how to use it, track upgrades, and recommend ways to get more out of it.
  • Take on administrative tasks. We need you to process procurement requests and submit invoices for products and services. You will also conduct background checks, reference checks, and close jobs in our applicant system

Your background

  • Recruitment interest & administrative experience. You like recruiting because you see the power of talent acquisition to transform an organization like ours. You have 3+ experience working in administrative roles, preferably in talent acquisition.
  • Organizational skills. You can manage multiple assignments for several recruiters simultaneously. You always keep a to-do list.
  • Computer skills. You are comfortable using with Microsoft office, applicant tracking systems, and scheduling software.
  • Collaborative spirit. You get along with your teammates and can gain their trust and respect. You roll up your sleeves and help others out in a pinch.
  • Research & problem-solving skills. You have the intelligence to anticipate challenges and the resourcefulness to find solutions.
  • English fluency. You write well and speak simply. You might dream in other languages but are equally fluent in English.
  • Flexibility. Sometimes you will have 3 weeks to schedule interviews for a position; sometimes you will have 3 days. You are comfortable in a fast-paced environment with fluid deadlines and global time zones.
  • Lives our values. You can thrive in CARE’s culture. You can demonstrate a commitment to diversity and inclusion, integrity, innovation, collaboration, and accountability.
  • Sense of Humor. You take your work seriously but not yourself. You unmute your mike to tell a joke or laugh.
