Salary: Up to £45,000 + £3344 London Weighting if applicable
Contract type: 24 months’ Fixed Term Contract
The Voluntary and Community Sector Emergencies Partnership (VCSEP), hosted by the British Red Cross, was formed with the aim of improving the coordination of national and local response by the sector before, during and after emergencies.
The Emergencies Partnership is co-chaired by the British Red Cross and the National Association for Voluntary and Community Action (NAVCA) and comprises partners from across the sector, including Business in the Community, St John Ambulance, Salvation Army, National Emergencies Trust (NET), Muslim Charities Forum, UK Community Foundations, Victim Support, Volunteering Matters, RE:ACT and over 200 local CVS partners. The contract for this role will be held by the British Red Cross.
How you’ll make a difference…

In this important role you’ll manage the digital systems roadmap for the VCSEP. You will ensure the secretariat and partners are supported by appropriate technology and data tools to support collaboration and coordination across the sector and improve data and insight sharing and information flow with the aim of ensuring more effective and human-centred action before, during and after emergencies.

What you’ll be doing…**

You’ll proactively understand the needs, challenges and ambitions of the partnership to identify opportunities for the use of new technology, data or improvements to existing systems. With a focus on qualitative and quantitative insight, user needs and business objectives you will lead requirements analysis, validation and verification to create and manage a backlog of improvements prioritised based on business value. You’ll directly deliver, or otherwise scope and oversee development of, improvements to ensure VCSEP always has the most appropriate digital systems, capabilities, and processes in place.
What you’ll bring to the role…

  • Strong BA skills – requirements gathering, verified through date and user research
  • Able to identify areas that can be improved with new technologies and system changes
  • Supporting system users of varying skill levels on various systems, tools and technology
  • Mapping of current ‘As-Is’ business processes and suggested ‘To Be’ business process(es)
  • Experience translating user needs into user stories or use case diagrams
  • Strong stakeholder management and relationship building skills
