M&A Intern in Venture Capital (100%)

The Swiss Startup Group is the leading privately financed venture platform based in Switzerland with offices in Zurich, Berne and Lausanne. Through its subsidiaries it scouts, analyses, values, builds and invests in startups locally and internationally. The Swiss Startup Group has set up its own venture investment funds, with the aim of investing in early stage tech-driven companies and conducting follow-on investments in its existing portfolio.

We are looking for a talented and highly ambitious intern to support us with the Group’s M&A activities as part of our portfolio investments. You will assume responsibility for various tasks within the overall M&A and fundraising processes and work closely with our Head of M&A.

Timing:
Starting date: ideally 01 August 2022 or to be agreed
Duration: preferably between 6 and 9 months

Tasks
Support the Head of M&A in ongoing M&A sales processes and fundraising activities of the Group’s portfolio companies
From the very start, you will be heavily involved in the full M&A and fundraising deal cycle; ranging from market research, database analysis, financial modelling, investor search and approach strategies, preparing pitches and information memorandum, organizing due diligences including the management of virtual data rooms and Q&A activities

Requirements
Bachelor’s or preferably Master’s degree (ideally in business administration, finance or economics)
Strong and genuine interest in venture capital and how M&A creates values for the investors
Previous work experience as an intern in venture capital or M&A
Proficient in Microsoft Office, in particular in Word, Excel and Powerpoint
Proactive attitude, and ability to work within a fast-moving environment
Effective communication skills with fluency in English and a good level of German (written and orally)
Entrepreneurial mindset with skills of a team player
