Salesforce is hiring a senior specialist to join the corporate PR team supporting Salesforce sustainability comms initiatives and work cross-functionally with various teams, including product, government affairs, marketing and creative / social to drive impact. This person will be able to build compelling content for various formats; drive coverage across Tier 1 and vertical media; manage sophisticated launches/initiatives from start to finish; and be comfortable presenting and managing up to senior level partners.

The ideal candidate will drive media momentum for Salesforce sustainability initiatives, protect Salesforce climate action reputation, and power the next phase of storytelling for our company’s sustainability initiatives. Previous experience in environmental NGO, climate startup and/or sustainability background, along with experience working in matrixed organization, a plus.

Role (open Position)

Sustainability Comms Senior Specialist: Focus on storytelling, partnerships, corporate announcements, product launches, and thought leadership campaigns for Salesforce sustainability initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Raise awareness and drive top-tier media coverage of Salesforce sustainability initiatives by highlighting our announcements, launches, campaigns and other key initiatives.
  • Elevate sustainability executives narrative across earned and owned media, speaking opportunities, and industry awards.
  • Support and help develop integrated communications strategies across all phases; from brief to plan creation to execution to performance measurement.
  • Stay up to date on the latest climate news to help advise our communications strategies and brand positioning among leaders.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with sustainability, climate, energy and technology / product reporters.
  • Develop crisp, clear, and differentiated messaging that engages key sustainability, climate, energy and trade media.
  • Research, develop and edit content, including messaging, briefing docs, press releases and more.
  • Partner closely with our agency to ensure program objectives and strategies are clearly communicated, aligned and met.

Required Skills

  • 3-5 years of PR experience in-house or agency, preferably in the tech space (though not required)
  • Previous experience in environmental NGO, climate startup and/or sustainability background, along with experience working in matrixed organization, a plus
  • Excellent writing and critical thinking skills
  • Top-notch media relations skills and demonstrated relationships with key press
  • Proactive, resourceful approach to generating media coverage that amplifies the Salesforce brand narrative and our marketing technology’s leadership position
  • Creative problem solver who isn’t afraid to take risks
  • Comfortable presenting to and counseling senior partners
  • Strong research, communication, organizational and project management skills
  • Thrives in a fast-paced environment, and is able to multitask, prioritize projects and communicate priorities to business partners
  • Self-starter who is comfortable managing their work autonomously
