General Function: After-School Group Staff Leaders are responsible for planning and implementing a variety of recreational and educational activities which support children’s learning and promote self-esteem in small group settings that fit the ASES Grant requirements of the following activities.

After-School Group Staff Leaders must meet qualifications as required by the Unified School District Program, ASES Grant, and TCF.

Due to COVID-19 staff will be required to have access to a working device (phone/laptop) and internet to conduct Distance Learning activities (if needed).

Job Requirements:

  • Candidate must qualify with 48 completed semester units or pass a proficiency exam.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Obtain TB clearance
  • Live Scan clearance or fingerprint submission

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

A. Supervision of Children

  • Supervises a group of 20 children specifically designated by the Program Facilitator.
  • Interacts with individuals and groups.
  • Participates actively in site activities.
  • Establishes and maintains appropriate physical and behavioral limits.
  • Confers immediately with the Program facilitator concerning suspected child abuse and follows the mandated reporting procedure.

B. Program

  • Planning and implementing a variety of recreational and educational activities which support children’s learning and promote self-esteem in small group settings in accordance with TCF philosophy and values: Love, Serving and Uniting
  • Is responsible and accountable for program preparation and delivery to a group of children specifically designated by the Program Facilitator.
  • Perform related duties as assigned.

C. Personal Qualities:

  • Exhibits good personal hygiene & follows specified dress code as outlined in the employee handbook.
  • Exhibits poise and self-confidence, behaving in a professional manner with staff, parents, and children.
  • Respects the attitudes and opinions of others.
  • Accepts and uses constructive criticism and analysis of job performance.
  • Completes and takes responsibility for personal paperwork necessary for employment and payroll.
  • Arrives to work regularly and on time
  • Arrange necessary absences with the Site Supervisor and Program Facilitator in advance
  • COVID-19 considerations:
    Candidates should showcase the ability to provide distance learning via the internet if needed

    The application must include Covid-19 vaccination status and/or include a copy of the vaccination card (if applicable). Weekly Covid-19 testing may be required (if applicable).

    Work Hours:
    Mondays- Fridays
    Between 12 pm – 6 pm, subject to change based on school site hours
    School year contract only
    20 – 25 hours
