Background

iMMAP maintains a global surge roster of rapidly deployable technical role profiles in the field of information management and other technical thematic areas, through which iMMAP provides surge capacity support to emergency operations and development programmes, through various Surge Tools, such as the Standby Partnership Programme.

The iMMAP Global Surge IT and Logistics Support Officer will work under the direct supervision of the iMMAP Global Surge Senior Information Management Officer. The incumbent will be responsible for maintaining all IT assets (hardware and software) and supporting with the related logistics, procurement and dispatching of IT and Visibility related items, of the Global Surge Team.

The iMMAP Global Surge IT and Logistics Support Officer will work under the responsibility and management of the Global Surge Team and will ensure close coordination with the Global IT Department of iMMAP.

Description of Duties

· Support with all IT procurement related issues of the global surge team

· Maintain records of purchased IT equipment, including the asset tracking matrix of the global surge team

· Maintain records of purchased licenses and subscriptions of the global surge team

· Receive and dispatch IT equipment, with specific details to surge deployees

· Support with all related tasks as per the supervisor’s request

· Test programs and software on laptops for the global surge team

· Administer user accounts related to the global surge team

· Support with IT related procurement processes, in close collaboration with the Surge Finance Officer

· Receive and dispatch surge related visibility items to surge deployees in a timely and regular manner

· Transfer computer files between platforms

· Provides basic troubleshooting, repair and maintenance for computer equipment (e.g. computers, mobile phones, disk drives, and printers) and may assist with testing personal computers and peripherals on a network to diagnose, hardware versus software problems

Requirements and qualifications

Experience, Education and qualifications

  • Degree in an IT related field or demonstrated equivalent experience
  • Previous experience in a similar role
  • Strong Knowledge of user Microsoft Office tools, JIRA, Trello including user management expertise for softwares such as ArcGIS (including ArcGIS Server), Adobe Creative Suite, PowerBI, Tableau, KoBo and other Information Management software solutions
  • Between 1 and 4 years of relevant working experience. Candidates overqualified and with too much experience will not be considered.
