Starting salary for this position is £34,572 per annum (plus contributory pension)

About MAG:

MAG (Mines Advisory Group) is an international humanitarian organisation based in Manchester, UK, and working in 32 countries. We remove landmines and unexploded ordnance to release safe and productive land for communities, and work to reduce the threat of armed violence by supporting governments to safely manage weapons and ammunition. In 1997, MAG was a co-recipient of the Nobel Peace Prize for our work campaigning for the Anti-Personnel Mine Ban Convention.

About the role:

As part of the Global Fundraising Team, you will help build excellent relationships with our supporters, helping us to grow our income and reach more people affected by landmines and conflict around the world. You will work with the Head of Public Fundraising and other fundraising teams to deliver an exceptional supporter experience, maintain accurate and insightful data, manage all aspects of our donation processing and strengthen our fundraising compliance. As the first point of contact for supporters and the general public, you will be handling telephone calls, emails, social media, and letters. You will be responsible for ensuring supporters feel valued, including through our annual Thankathon campaign where you will play a lead role. This varied role will also support the individual giving and community and event teams to steward support, improve loyalty, and ensure our database is kept up to date. This includes managing a US fundraising colleague to ensure donation processing and supporter care are aligned and working towards our shared global vision.

About you:

You will have strong experience of delivering high quality supporter or customer care and general administration. You will have experience using databases, particularly including entering financial and personal data, and the ability to understand and manipulate complex data. You will have excellent communication skills over a variety of mediums and the ability to develop and maintain positive relationships. You will be motivated, with a positive can-do attitude and great organisational and prioritisation skills. Experience in the charity sector, particularly in fundraising or with fundraising database systems such as Donorfy or Raiser’s Edge, is advantageous.

What you can expect in return:

  • Competitive salary
  • 25 days annual leave per year (increasing with service) plus public holidays.
  • Company pension (matching at 5%)
  • Employee Assistance Programme: MAG offers free access to Health Assured, a service providing 24/7 confidential support and expert advice on a wide range of issues.
