Rate: £9.78 per hour. 5.6 weeks holiday (pro rata)

We are looking to recruit a committed enabler to support a young lady who has a diagnosis of Rett Syndrome, generalised complex epilepsy, Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities, disorganised breathing, mobility & communication problems. She requires assistance with activities of daily living.
The young lady is a happy, friendly person who enjoys socialising with people. She is very much a social butterfly. Her communication is through eye pointing, communication board and briefly touching or wiping an object. She makes use of intonation in her vocalisations so you can gain an understanding of what she is trying to say
Her favourite activities are spending time at home watching DVDS, natural history programmes, the music channel and sports. She enjoys being outside, taking walks looking at trees and water and using a wheelchair for longer distances, going to the shops travelling by bus, car or metro and having picnics.
Main Duties
To support for 5 hours per week (in one block) during school holidays. Mainly at home but occasionally accessing appropriate activities away from the home.
To build a secure relationship with the young lady and her family
To encourage interactions appropriate to the activities being accessed
To prompt and assist the young lady with toileting needs
To administer emergency rescue meds for epilepsy if required (full training will be provided)
To assist with feeding

Have an outgoing personality.
Car driver is essential, access to Motability vehicle will be possible.
Out of pocket expenses will be met by the Employer.
