We are looking for a Support Worker to join our A2C service in Bideford & Barnstable, where you will join our friendly and inspiring team. Your role will be a Permanent Full Time position working 35 hours a week based in the service. You will need to be able to work flexibly as you will be working as part of the rota.
We want to recognise the important contribution of our front-line colleagues within our accommodation roles which is why you will be awarded a £250 bonus (pro rata for part time staff) if you start with us in January, February or March.
We also offer flexible working bank and Part time hours for this role. There is also the potential to pick up extra hours as overtime.
Our Alternative 2 Care service provides housing support for up to 15 individuals with low to medium support needs who are leaving a hospital or residential setting. We provide individualised support which is funded by the Devon Partnership Trust. We work closely with the people who use the service to ensure the support they receive is of the highest quality and is right for them. We aim to encourage people to manage and control they own recovery as much as possible.

What will you be doing?
You will be supporting someone in their daily activities to enable them to maximise their independence, this can involve things like,
Providing encouragement with household tasks such as laundry, cooking and cleaning
Supporting to learn new skills and achieve dreams and ambitions
Assisting people to pursue their interests and hobbies
Working with other mental health professionals and the family/friends of the person being supported
Provide encouragement to recognise, understand and manage factors that affect mental wellbeing and physical health
Do you have what we are looking for?

Ideally, we would like you to have some experience or understanding of Mental Health however Support Work isn’t all about qualifications. If you have a passion for making a difference to the lives of people living with a severe mental illness, you may be who we are looking for.
