As a mean to respond to the increasing human needs in Lebanon under multiple crises, Action against hunger is launching the roster pools project, in this initiative we will validate all interested and qualified individuals in Finance, the applicants will become a part of our active pool and shall be contacted and prioritized when we have any open position or urgent gap to fill.
Action against Hunger is an international non-governmental, private, apolitical, non-religious and non-profit organization created in 1979. Its goal is to combat hunger and dangerous situations that threaten men, women and children. Currently 500 expats and more than 5,000 employees are working for Action against Hunger in more than forty-six countries working in projects concerning four areas of focus: nutrition, health, food security and water and sanitation.
In Lebanon, the Syrian crisis continues to generate political, social and economic pressure due to the war in Lebanon and keeps more than 1.5 million refugees in a situation of increasing vulnerability. In this environment of political, economic and social uncertainty, our teams have maintained their high levels of humanitarian response and aid to Lebanon. Likewise, our interventions have been maintained in the Bekaa and northern areas, as well as in the south of the country, with a special focus on working in partnership or in consortium with other organizations and on institutional strengthening of the relationship with both donors. institutional, such as with local authorities and entities.
WE WORK IN LEBANON AGAINST COVID-19

Focusing on Syrian refugee population and Lebanese host communities, mobilization committees, isolation centres, municipalities and service providers.

Conducting training for health personnel.

Distributing disinfection and dignity kits.

Installing latrines for people with specific needs in Aarsal.

Carrying out channel cleaning to ensure proper drainage. Distributing water through tanker trucks.
GENERAL OBJECTIVE
The operations department includes a group of senior managers who are responsible for ensuring quality implementation of Action Against Hunger’s programs in Lebanon (Beirut, Bekaa and South), in addition to proper security management and to supervise human resources, financial, logistics, Monitoring & Evaluation, grants and technical departments; and ensure optimization of resources and maximization of their impact.
They lead Action Against Hunger teams in a safe way taking into consideration context and risk analysis and the adaption of necessary measures to protect staff and beneficiaries. They are the overall responsible for Action Against Hunger’s strategy on a country and base level.
These objectives are comprehensive to different positions levels; if you qualify for minimum 3 of the below mentioned objectives, then you are eligible to apply.
- Objective 1: Program Management and Support in the optimal implementation of project
- Objective 2: Human Resources Management & Capacity Building
- Objective 3: Support the Grant writing and donor relation process
- Objective 4: Security Management
- Objective 5: Ensure effective intra-base coordination in Lebanon
- Objective 6: Team Management
- Objective 7: Management of Logistics, Finance, HR, MEAL and Grants departments keeping in mind the final objective of improving the operations and projects efficiency
- Objective 8: Ensure proper management of the Action Against Hunger security procedures and tools
- Objective 9: Support humanitarian activities of Action Against Hunger
Training/ Education: Degree and/or master’s degree in economics, Business Administration, Finance, Logistics, Humanitarian Studies, International Development, Political Science, International Relations or any other related field
Technical specific knowledge: Technical knowledge in Support functions (HR, Finance, logistics, MEAL) and security management Ability to write donor reports and proposals in English is a plus.
Previous experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in a managerial position in the Humanitarian/development sector. Experience in logistics and security management Training and capacity building experience
Humanitarian sector knowledge: Previous experience in the humanitarian field (at least 5 years is a place) Private Sector experience will be considered
Respect ACF Security Regulation
Languages: English (compulsory working language, spoken, read and written)
IT and specific systems: Windows Domain, Compulsory expertise in Excel, accounting program
Mobility (national/ international): National and International
PROFILE CONCLUSIONS:
- Solid experience in strategic planning and strategy development and the ability to contribute to the mission’s strategic objectives and implementation.
- Sound negotiation skills and experience with internal and external stakeholders including access and donors.
- High analytical capacity and the ability to produce contextual analysis and make sound decisions in technical and support functions.
- Experience in management of volatile security contexts with capacity to face a stressful environment.
- Professional Oral and Written communication skills – and the ability to produce reports and different documents in a good quality
- Solid teamwork and good conflict resolution skills and Motivation to work for a humanitarian cause.
