Supply Chain Intern

Tenneco is seeking a driven, self-motivated Supply Chain focused student who has an interest in gaining hands-on experience.

The Tenneco student program provides a unique opportunity for students to learn, work, and contribute in an industry leading environment. This position supports the Motorparts business line and will either be remote or onsite/hybrid in our various distribution center facilities. This role may be remote, pending current safety protocol allowing for re-entry to the buildings. This is a summer internship with the potential to extend.

Possible responsibilities include:

  • Supply chain best practice process documentation and standardization & business socialization
  • Supply chain process flowchart documentation & business socialization
  • Support the business line specific demand planning team with demand planning analyst work
  • Support the business line specific supply planning team with supply planning analyst work
  • Coverage for supply planner tasks & responsibilities to cover vacations
  • Process improvement initiatives for supply replenishment methodologies & inventory planning

Required of an Intern:

  • Must be able to work independently and in a team based environment
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills
  • Effective time management skills
  • Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint and Word

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Student currently enrolled and pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution
  • Student with a minimum overall cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher
  • Ability to work at least 40 hours per week during the internship period May – August 2022
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Student currently enrolled and pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in supply chain, supply chain management, or engineering (with a focus in supply chain or supply chain management) from an accredited institution
  • Student with MRP knowledge and/or hands-on experience
  • Student with prior internship experience in operations, supply chain or purchasing role
