Job Summary

IGS is looking for a talented and motivated individual to join its growing Renewable Energy team.

Traditionally, a group that has supported the mandatory and voluntary mass market obligations for IGS���������s electricity customers, the renewable energy desk has expanded its reach and expertise into customizing green energy solutions for C&I customers along with supporting the IGS Solar business. Our group is actively engaged in helping IGS achieve its current and future sustainability initiatives along with utilizing our deep knowledge of REC (Renewable Energy Credit) markets to optimize our green portfolio.

Working in a fast-paced team environment, the Renewable Supply Analyst will be part of the Renewable Energy team and primarily help to provide timely analysis to the REC Trader and internal partners. The selected applicant will add value by building expertise in all states that IGS serves load and has mandatory REC obligations as well as assishe team in modeling and analysis related to specific (S)REC positions by products and markets. This position will play an integral role in the growth and reputation of the REC team as we continue to serve many internal business partners.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Leverage external and internal systems to schedule all REC trades, transfers, retirements, and reporting requirements (EMA, REC Tracking Systems, ETRM, Trade Blotter, etc.)
  • Update and manage all state mandated Environmental Disclosure Labels and compliance-based emission reports
  • Provide regulatory support and analysis on new and existing legislature which impacts REC pricing, sale of green products, and REC position
  • Maintain and support all functions of renewable contracts and billing processes for (S)REC transactions
  • Contribute by building and expanding models to leverage new and existing data into meaningful analysis for reporting and decision making
  • Develop an understanding of renewable product offerings and provide a high-level of customer service and support to mass marketing representatives and all Commercial and Industrial representatives
  • Support all internal and external partners for all green initiatives
  • Thorough understanding of each state���������s current and future Renewable Portfolio Standard (RPS) to assist in completing annual REC filings with state agencies

Other Responsibilities:

  • Support reporting for Billing, Finance, and Accounting
  • Support IGS sales requests to develop Green products

Desired Skills:

  • High level technical skills preferred. Must be proficient in Excel
  • Understanding of renewable energy markets and cost structures
  • Ability to successfully execute complex tasks simultaneously and make appropriate decisions in high pressure situations
  • Strong problem-solving ability to act with authority and take approprisks in an environment with little direction from others
  • Sense of urgency to complete tasks based on tight deadlines
  • Must demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively along with excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Willingness to bring innovative ideas to the table and push the boundaries of what our team can achieve

Minimum Education and Experience:

  • 1 to 2 years of experience working at an ISO, utility, or energy provider preferred.
  • Bachelor���������s Degree in Business, with emphasis or other related area of study
