What You’ll Do:

  • Work with purchasing to ensure supplier performance is regularly reported and that appropriate and timely corrective actions are implemented.
  • Maintain and update critical supplier audit system and schedule
  • Conduct supplier audits to drive process standardization, waste elimination and continuous improvement
  • Monitor, communicate and improve key supply KPI’s, DPPM and waste reduction
  • Establish specific short- and long-term supplier quality goals
  • Champion problem solving and root cause analysis activities with suppliers and customers to eliminate recurrence of non-conformances
  • Work to resolve supplier technical issues in a timely manner to ensure continuity of supply
  • Develop long-term supplier relationships and generate and implement cost reduction ideas
  • Aid Design and Manufacturing teams in the evaluation and qualification of new supplier materials following a defined new product development process
  • Strategically lead supplier performance improvement projects to increase the supplier capability of consistently meeting SSB requirements. Projects may include process analysis, value stream mapping, process capability and throughput analysis, 6-sigma, 6S and Kaizen events
  • Drive “Zero Defect” mentality within the supply base
  • Communicate engineering and manufacturing specifications to the supplier technical teams
  • Actively manage suppliers to ensure there are no regressions with the implementation of new processes
  • Aid in the new, probationary and rejected supplier transition process
  • Travel to supplier location to resolve quality problems and conduct audits (QMS and process)
  • Assure compliance to all applicable legal requirements pertaining to material/product regulatory aspects and impacts.

How You’ll Do It:

  • Understanding of new product introduction and staged gate processes, APQP preferred.
  • Advanced Computer skills using Microsoft Office and Mini-TAB applications
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work will at all levels of the Organization (Professional Corporate staff as well as Plant level Quality Technicians)
  • Strong Data analysis and problem-solving skills
  • Strong Organizational skills
  • QMS methodologies: 8D, Lean, 5 Why’s, Pareto Analysis, Six Sigma, DFMEA, PFMEA, PPAP, Fishbone etc.
  • Working knowledge of relevant Quality related Statistics, for example Capability studies, Gage R&R etc.
  • Ability to work well with diverse groups of people and function independently of direct supervision.

What You’ll Bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline
  • 3-5 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Travel up to 75% to various environments, including manufacturing locations.
