Job Description:
Do you want to join a young and dynamic asset management firm? Sun Life Global Investments (SLGI) is one of Canada’s fastest growing institutional asset managers in the Defined Contribution industry. It primarily markets its funds to plan sponsor clients of Sun Life’s Group Retirement Services (GRS) defined contribution (DC) business and to Sun Life’s Client Solutions (rollover) area.
The Associate, Institutional Business Development and Client Relationship will work closely with members of SLGI institutional team and its partners including: Product, Marketing and the Institutional Business Development (BD) and Client Relationship (CR) team. This role will provide sales and Client, investment information and analytical support
The incumbent will manage and deliver initiatives related to Client and sales monthly and quarterly reporting, ad-hoc data reports, meeting presentations, communications, requests for proposal/information, event management and maintenance of CRM (Salesforce) information. They will also be working in tight collaboration with the Marketing team on the creation of persuasive sales support tools and marketing collaterals.
What will you do?
Sales & Client Support and Communications
Updates of quarterly reports (pitchbooks, performance reports, newsletters, org charts, bios etc.) and marketing materials and sales support collaterals in collaboration with subject matter experts as well as the marketing, product and compliance teams
Maintain and administer RFP database, update new responses and recommend enhancements to the existing ones
Manage Institutional email campaigns (quarterly updates, roadshow invitation, newsletters, etc.) activities such as: Content development; Creation, validation and maintain campaign lists; Key metrics monitoring and reporting
Maintain the quarterly request log and visual board to ensure excellence in servicing
Maintain SLGI SharePoint (intranet), Institutional Wiki, and documentation on the website
Help identify new approaches to streamline processes to help enhance client engagement and experience
Event Management and Project Coordination
Manage the institutional national roadshows and speaking opportunities at industry conferences
Support the Institutional BD and CR team hosting events, including internal and external training sessions
Coordinate ad-hoc and special projects
Investment Information and Analytical Support
Develop an understanding of SLGI Institutional capabilities and investment solutions
Provide analytical support to BD and CR team for adhoc requests through the use of internal and external data bases such as Mercer Insight and eVestment
Maintain and enhance the CRM database (Salesforce), and able to generate quarterly reports as required
What do you need to succeed?
Strong attention to details and high level accuracy
Creative, innovative thinker, self-starter and self-learner
Experience and knowledge of the pension/institutional investment management business & investment products a requirement and genuine interest for the investment industry
Strong analytical, problem-solving and continuous skills
Excellent communication, influencing and interpersonal skills
Ability to be flexible and able to adapt to obstacles in a frequently changing environment
Ability to work proactively and with little supervision
Understanding of sales and marketing processes and environment
Requirements:
Undergraduate Business or equivalent university degree required
Canadian Securities Course (CSC), industry related-courses, working towards CFA or similar professional designation is an asset
Minimum 3 years of work experience in the financial services industry, preferably in Institutional Sales & Client Support
Advanced computer applications skills such as Microsoft Office, Adobe , Salesforce and Watson Campaign Automation
Bilingual proficiency (English and French) spoken and written is an asset (at least comfortable working with French document (formatting and familiarity with some investment terminology)
Some travel may be required

The Base Pay range is for the primary location for which the job is posted. It may vary depending on the work location of the successful candidate or other factors. In addition to Base Pay, eligible Sun Life employees participate in various incentive plans, payment under which is discretionary and subject to individual and company performance. Certain sales focused roles have sales incentive plans based on individual or group sales results.
