Basic Purpose

Transaction & Document Processing (TDP) consists of eight business areas that process every Mobile, ATM, and Mailed check deposit, ACH payment, and paper document that Navy Federal receives. In addition to ensuring our members receive their funds in their accounts accurately and quickly, we take pride in identifying and preventing fraudulent transactions.

Navy Federal Membership is growing rapidly—and deposits transactions are growing with it. As those transactions grow, TDP is continuously pursuing ways to optimize staffing, automate manual processes, and forecast future volume to ensure we’re prepared to facilitate the payments and deposits processes and protect our members funds.

The Summer Intern will work in a flexible hybrid manner and report to one of our main campuses. They will provide professional execution of day-to-day tasks and special projects while working within established standards, policies, and procedures. They can also expect to perform research and document fulfillment tasks for requests initiated by members and internal business areas.

Responsibilities

  • Provide support and contribute to small projects or portions of larger projects
  • Provide comprehensive day-to-day operational support
  • Perform daily request distribution tasks such as researching, printing, packaging, and delivering requested items upon fulfillment with a high level of accuracy
  • Research member account information to confirm destination of requested mail and accuracy of documents produced by the automated system
  • Research, process and distribute exception items such as rejected, back-office and missing items from existing image repositories to requesting parties
  • Provide direct member service in high volume situations

Qualifications

  • Must be pursuing an undergraduate or higher degree from an accredited college/university
  • Quick and agile learner
  • Good communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to work independently and think outside of the box
  • Strong strategic, critical, and analytical thinking skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and demonstrate integrity
  • Basic knowledge of financial services/payments a plus

Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:00AM – 4:30PM

Navy Federal is now hybrid! Our standard enterprise requirement for a hybrid schedule is to report on-site 4-16 days each month. The number of days reporting on-site will ultimately be determined by the employee’s leadership and business unit needs. You will learn more throughout the hiring and on boarding process.

Salary Range: $15.00 – $30.10 Hourly

Navy Federal Credit Union assesses market data to establish salary ranges that enable us to remain competitive. Within this range, pay will be determined based on factors such as individual qualifications, location, and market position.
