Basic Purpose

The PPM Team Has Two Main Focuses

The Portfolio Platform Management (PPM) team is a team within IT Business Services along with IT Reporting and Analytics, Service Management, and Configuration Management. We work together to integrate technology into business strategy and services resulting in optimized experiences across the enterprise.

  • Portfolio – Manage the Technical Foundations portfolio for ISD, which includes the management of the processes, methods, and technologies used to analyze and manage current and proposed projects and dollars. We also facilitate four portfolio governance meetings that focus on ensuring that ISD assigns its resources and budgets to the proper projects that drive ISD and NFCU forward.
  • Platform – oversee the functions of the ServiceNow IT Business Management (ITBM) tool, which includes providing front-end support (customer assistance) and technical support. ITBM is a module within in the ServiceNow platform that is used to track and complete the work of the full project life cycle from the Demand phase to the Project phase, and project planning to closeout.

We are looking for a driven individual with a basic understanding of project management principles, and the ability to quickly adapt to a new IT application who is ready for an immersive, real-world experience. The intern can expect to participate in activities spanning both of our main focuses. On the portfolio side, the intern may be called upon to assist with research into specific demands or projects, sort/filter/analyze demand or project data, and assist with the PPM team’s biggest yearly task, Annual Financial Planning (AFP). On the platform side, the intern may be asked to make small, low/no code updates to the ITBM module. The intern may also be asked to assist with user testing of new releases of the ITBM module or ServiceNow platform.

The intern should be a self-starter, and motivated team player, who can maintain efficiency and accuracy when multitasking, and have a positive attitude. The intern should also be collaborative, trustworthy, receptive to feedback, and eager to learn.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with maintaining/enhancing ITBM when asked
  • User acceptance testing of new releases of ITBM or ServiceNow
  • Support the PPM team by researching, compiling, and analyzing project data
  • Assist with Annual Financial Planning activities
  • Handling sensitive or confidential information with honesty and integrity
  • Taking on additional tasks or projects to learn more about portfolio and

platform management

Qualifications

  • Must be pursuing an undergraduate or higher degree from an accredited college/university
  • An individual that has completed at least one year of college course work
  • Experience with project management or IT project work – desired
  • Ability to learn basic low/no code techniques
  • Effective organizational skills and ability to respond to requests

Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:00AM – 4:30PM (Subject to change based on business need)

Navy Federal is now hybrid! Our standard enterprise requirement for a hybrid schedule is to report on-site 4-16 days each month. The number of days reporting on-site will ultimately be determined by the employee’s leadership and business unit needs. You will learn more throughout the hiring and on boarding process.

Salary Range: $15.00 – $30.10 hourly

Navy Federal Credit Union assesses market data to establish salary ranges that enable us to remain competitive. Within this range, pay will be determined based on factors such as individual qualifications, location, and market position.
