Summary Of Position

Amicus Summer Internship Program is created to give students an opportunity for experiential learning in a corporate environment. This is a meaningful, mutually beneficial program where students will bring innovation and drive that will help us reach our goals. In turn, our highly skilled Amicus team will help students apply what they already know and broaden their knowledge base.

This is a full-time paid internship that will run from June 05, 2023 until August 04, 2023. For best consideration, candidates should apply by no later than January 27, 2023.

IT Business Analyst Intern will work with the Associate Director, IT Business Technology & Applications to support IT programs, portfolios, and initiatives. This role is the first step into business analysis. Business Analysts are essential to every organization as they are responsible for understanding system capabilities and business needs for defining solutions to bridge the gap between business and IT. The individual will be integral part of IT, helping the Applications group with process and system analysis as well as documentation and testing. Communications skills and critical thinking are key to success in this role.

Roles And Responsibilities

The IT Business Analyst Intern is responsible for:

  • Get an understanding of Amicus applications to contribute to system support and issues resolution
  • Participate in requirements gathering efforts for various system implementations
  • Contribute to development of user guides, training materials, and training activities
  • Help with documenting user requirements and maintaining project plans for new implementations and systems changes
  • Assist in process and system analysis to identify gaps and work on process improvements
  • Provide help with building test cases, capturing acceptance criteria, and performing testing activities

This Internship is a great opportunity for an energetic, motivated individual who has a strong interest in pursuing a career in Information Technology. The goal of this internship is to apply knowledge acquired in the classroom to real-world situations, as well as gain the skills and experience that is necessary to prepare the student for a successful career in IT. The IT Business Analyst intern will have an opportunity to get familiar with different systems and contribute to multiple initiatives and projects. They will shadow various members of Applications Group in business related meetings/activities to learn a day in the life of IT Applications Manager, Business Analyst, and System Administrator.

ORGANIZATIONAL STRUCTURE

Reports to Associate Director, IT Business Technology & Applications

Qualifications And Background Requirements

  • Candidates must be currently enrolled in an accredited college Undergraduate or Master’s program
  • Rising sophomore or higher with a GPA 3.0 or higher
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States without needing sponsorship for employment now or in the future

Ideal Experience

  • Major: Computer Science, IT-related or Business-related field
  • Strong interest in business analysis
  • Tech savvy, critical thinker, and problem solver
  • Clear and concise communicator with good writing, speaking, and interpersonal skills
  • Prior work or volunteer experience is a plus
  • Passionate about building solutions that work

LOCATION

Preferred location is Princeton, NJ (with a hybrid work approach) and the individual will be expected to work in the office 1-2 days per week.
