Basic Purpose
ISD Risk Management exists to provide our business partners the understanding, identification and address IT risks in ways that enhance confidence in our critical systems and processes. We seek to provide a holistic view on risks that ISD faces and allow for more educated decision making around those risks.
The Risk Management team performs technical risk assessments to identify risks to the organization, their potential impact and the likelihood for this to take place. The team also facilitates Risk and Control Self Assessments(RCSA) where risks and controls are identified and assessed for inherent risk, control effectiveness and residual risk for an ISD processes. If an issue is identified during these two types of assessments an issue is created and reported to Enterprise Risk Management(ERM) and ISD remediation services. As part of ISD Risk Management we are responsible for the complete lifecycle of an issue from identification through closure. This team also manages processes which do not comply with Information Security Standards through our exceptions process.
This position requires a person with an analytical mindset and the ability to collaborate with different teams. Someone in this role requires technical and reporting skills with the ability to present findings to different levels of management. A collaborative mindset and good communication skills are necessary for the success of the intern.

Responsibilities
- Analyze information, requirements, data, work quality, work methods, processes,
service specific practices, standards and metrics/statistics
- Interpret results of analysis; present recommendations, including alternatives
and implications
- Collaborate with other business units to analyze and improve processing procedures
and resolve problems
- Analyze changes in policies, procedures and products; determine the impact on the
group functions
- Identify and analyze opportunities for new and/or improved processes, data, or
technology; provide clear picture of possible outcomes
- Work with peers, business units and/or project teams, and vendors to ensure business
needs are fully communicated, documented and satisfied
- Compile, review and prepare data to be used by analysts and management in the analysis
of operations, services and products
- Analyze information to produce analytically driven inferences and hypotheses to generate
actionable recommendations
- Solve business problems by defining the problem, interviewing stakeholders, identifying
and evaluating alternatives, and presenting findings
- Ensure compliance with Navy Federal Credit Union ISD standards and best practices
- Performs other related duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Must be pursuing a degree from an accredited college/university
- Must be flexible and willing to multitask
- Effective interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
- Basic research, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Basic skill maintaining accuracy with attention to detail and meeting deadlines
- Ability to adapt to new technologies
- Ability to provide exceptional customer service
- Basic word processing and spreadsheet software skills
- Basic organizational, planning and time management skills

Navy Federal is now hybrid! Our standard enterprise requirement for a hybrid schedule is to report on-site 4-16 days each month. The number of days reporting on-site will ultimately be determined by the employee’s leadership and business unit needs. You will learn more throughout the hiring and on boarding process.
Salary Range: $15.00 – $30.10 hourly
Navy Federal Credit Union assesses market data to establish salary ranges that enable us to remain competitive. Within this range, pay will be determined based on factors such as individual qualifications, location, and market position.
