Basic Purpose

The Mechanical Services Department at Greater Pensacola Operations includes the HVAC, Plumbing and Kitchen Services. As a group of 13 employees, we maintain all HVAC and Plumbing equipment to over 2 million square feet of occupied space.

The Greater Pensacola Operations Facility Management Division (GPO FMD) team is looking for an intern in the Mechanical Services Department. An intern selected for this position will enhance their HVAC skills and provide support in focused areas. The intern will gain valuable insight into Navy Federal’s business, technology, resources, and procedures. The intern will work directly with mechanical and electrical equipment and assist the HVAC technicians with completing preventative maintenance on all HVAC Equipment located at Navy Federal’s Greater Pensacola Operations.

Responsibilities

  • Supports HVAC mechanical projects
  • Provides general assistance for installation, alteration, maintenance and repair of Navy Federal Credit Union heating/ventilation/air conditioning (HVAC) systems, cooling towers, pneumatic controls, sprinkler systems, refrigeration, environmental equipment, centrifugal chillers, and large kitchen appliances
  • Prepares systems or equipment parts and materials as needed
  • Picks up and delivers supplies as required
  • Gathers and returns tools, supplies, equipment, and materials for use in mechanical projects as instructed
  • Maintains heating/ventilation/air conditioning (HVAC) systems
  • Performs mechanical maintenance tasks such as cleaning or replacing filters and belts and lubricating motors following work instructions and simple drawings or diagrams
  • Uses test equipment to diagnose operational status of thermostats and pneumatic controls
  • Adjusts thermostats and pneumatic controls to maintain operational standards
  • Make internal customer service a priority in all interactions, by always maintaining professionalism
  • Providing comprehensive day-to-day support for the organization
  • Possess the ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Must be pursuing an undergraduate or higher degree from an accredited college/university
  • Must possess Driver’s license
  • Practical HVAC Mechanical experience
  • Basic knowledge of tools, mathematics, materials, and safety regulations associated with the HVAC trade
  • Ability to follow work instruction and read/interpret simple drawings and diagrams

Hours: Monday – Friday, 7:00AM – 3:30PM

Salary Range: $15.00 – $30.10 Hourly

Navy Federal Credit Union assesses market data to establish salary ranges that enable us to remain competitive. Within this range, pay will be determined based on factors such as individual qualifications, location, and market position.
