Summer Intern – Corporate Communication

Come join our team for the summer! You will work alongside our Marketing Team to develop and publish digital content that will keep our colleagues and clients informed and engaged. A self-starter and a team player, you’ll be ready to learn from others, drive your own development and share your knowledge. It’s a chance to develop your digital expertise and content development skills in an entrepreneurial yet collaborative environment where new ideas are embraced and implemented.

Our ten-week internship program is designed to provide valuable career experience for students who wish to apply their education and skills in a global fixed-income-oriented work environment. This is an immersive program that mirrors the responsibilities of an early career position within the organization. You will receive on-the-job training as well as technical and business-oriented education. As a summer intern at Western Asset, you will be performing real work that contributes significantly to the success of the organization.

What You Will Do

• Support the Marketing Team on email, web and internal messages while adhering to project deadlines and communicate milestones to project partners
• Brainstorm creative and innovative ways to engage with customers and owners
• Investigate and validate copy for accuracy
• Develop and publish articles on our Intranet site based on a brief or outline of requirements
• Update design templates to ensure a consistent look and feel for our materials
• Transition content to enable automated updates
• Proofread and edit drafted copy from internal teams

What You Will Bring

• You are an undergraduate or graduate level student from a finance, marketing, communications, journalism, business administration or a related major with a proven record of academic excellence and achievement.
• Strong interest in working in an investment management or financial services environment
