Basic Purpose

The Continuous Integration and Delivery (CI/CD) division supports the enterprise goal Scalable & Flexible, as part of the Modern Deployment sub-initiative. The CI/CD Test Automation team is composed of talented Test Automation Engineers and Software Development Engineers in Test (SDET) with a passion for software test automation and developing DevOps best practices. The CI/CD Test Automation team is driving the adoption of modern deployment testing and a test automation framework that will enable enterprise development teams to implement DevOps principles and standards. The CI/CD Test Automation team collaborates with Product owners, Developers, Cloud Engineers, DevOps Engineers and Operations to plan and design testing and test management solutions that enable automated testing in a CI/CD model. The Test Automation team is also responsible for tool administration, software licenses, and Annual Financial Planning for over 70 software products in use by thousands of enterprise-wide users.

Potential Intern Projects Include

The Summer Intern will provide professional execution of day-to-day tasks and special projects while working within established CI/CD Test Automation standards, policies, and procedures. The candidate will help drive the 2023 Modern Deployment sub-initiative adoption at scale and help ensure quality guardrails are enabled across various application deployment pipelines.

  • Annual Financial Planning budget submission for the CI/CD Division
  • Enhancement of the Test Automation Center of Excellence
  • Implementation of new Artificial Intelligence and/or Machine Learning test tools to support CI/CD
  • Consulting with enterprise Product Teams to increase Modern Deployment test automation
  • Managing data analytics to forecast software license allocation, budgeting, and procurement
  • Participate in studies to simplify the Test Automation framework and Team onboarding package

Responsibilities

  • Assist Test Automation engineers with onboarding Agile product teams to the CI/CD test automation framework
  • Generate metrics to assess Product Team test automation maturity level
  • Support communication and documentation requirements to increase the adoption of an Artificial Intelligence and/or Machine Learning test tools
  • Develop processes and workflows and provide related documentation
  • Generate metrics to monitor current and future software license requirements
  • Support business strategy and initiatives within the business unit and/or across the organization
  • Assist and collaborate with staff at various skill levels to accomplish tasks/assignments
  • Perform research and analysis which may include quantitative and/or qualitative analysis
  • Maintain professionalism in all interactions while placing NFCU Member service as a priority
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Must be pursuing an undergraduate or higher degree from an accredited college/university
  • Familiarity with code or script development (e.g., Java, PowerShell, Visual Basic, VBScript)
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office tools including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
  • Effective research, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Desired – Familiarity with software testing
  • Desired – Familiarity querying SQL databases
  • Desired – Exposure creating SharePoint site pages or wiki pages (markdown) for team collaboration and information sharing
  • Desired – Familiarity deploying software with CI/CD
  • Desired – Familiarity with Agile project management methodologies and frameworks such as Scrum
  • Desired – Familiarity of Azure DevOps (ADO) or similar Cloud offerings
  • Desired – Ability to give scripted technical presentations to audiences of 20 or less

Navy Federal is now hybrid! Our standard enterprise requirement for a hybrid schedule is to report on-site 4-16 days each month. The number of days reporting on-site will ultimately be determined by the employee’s leadership and business unit needs. You will learn more throughout the hiring and on boarding process.

Salary Range: $15.00- $30.10 hourly

Navy Federal Credit Union assesses market data to establish salary ranges that enable us to remain competitive. Within this range, pay will be determined based on factors such as individual qualifications, location, and market position.
