Basic Purpose

This position will be directly assigned to the Consumer Lending Member & Employee Experience team; however, they will at times work in conjunction with additional Consumer Lending business units, as well as external stakeholders, such as Marketing, Mission Data, Contact Center and Branch Operations. Consumer Lending Portfolio is a high-volume production shop that underwrites Consumer Loans, to include Secured (automobile, motorcycle, etc.) and Unsecured (signature based) loan products. While our Summer Intern will not utilize a Loan Officer’s authority level, they will receive training that provides them with an overview of Consumer Lending’s underwriting methodology in order to better understand the current state of our systems and processes. Upon training completion, the Summer Intern will be assigned to assist Lending & Business Solutions by being able to understand the needs, challenges and pain points experienced by our Members & Employees.

Responsibilities

  • Provide support to assigned department; may work on small projects or portions of larger

projects

  • Support business strategy and initiatives within the business unit and/or across the

organization

  • Track Member & Employee experiences across all channels, devices, and touchpoints
  • Identify Member & Employee needs and take proactive steps to maintain positive experiences
  • Assist and collaborate with various levels of staff to accomplish tasks/assignments
  • Create artifacts which can articulate the current & future experiences
  • Perform research, analysis and interpret Member & Employee experience information /

feedback

  • Maintain professionalism in all interactions, placing member service as priority
  • Provide support in functional areas of the credit union
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Must be pursuing a degree from an accredited college/university, preferably in the field

of Marketing, Communications, Business Management, Human Centered Design, or a related field

  • Effective interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Ability to work and collaborate with various stakeholders
  • Maintains a Member Experience centered approach
  • Effective research, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Effective skill maintaining accuracy with attention to detail and meeting deadlines
  • Ability to exercise initiative and good judgment to make sound decisions

  • Effective word processing and spreadsheet software skills
  • Effective organizational, planning and time management skills

Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:00AM – 4:30PM

Navy Federal is now hybrid! Our standard enterprise requirement for a hybrid schedule is to report on-site 4-16 days each month. The number of days reporting on-site will ultimately be determined by the employee’s leadership and business unit needs. You will learn more throughout the hiring and on boarding process.

Salary Range:$15.00 – $30.10 hourly

Navy Federal Credit Union assesses market data to establish salary ranges that enable us to remain competitive. Within this range, pay will be determined based on factors such as individual qualifications, location, and market position.
