Basic Purpose

Transaction & Document Processing (TDP) consists of eight business areas that process every Mobile, ATM, and Mailed check deposit, ACH payment, and paper document that Navy Federal receives. In addition to ensuring our members receive their funds in their accounts accurately and quickly, we take pride in identifying and preventing fraudulent transactions. Our 300+ employees are located in Pensacola, San Diego, Winchester, VA, and at our headquarters in Vienna, VA.

Navy Federal Membership is growing rapidly—and deposits transactions are growing with it. As those transactions grow, TDP is continuously pursuing ways to optimize staffing, automate manual processes, and forecast future volume to ensure we’re prepared to facilitate the payments and deposits processes and protect our members funds.This role will be a member of the Business Operations Analysis (BOA) group – a group of business intelligence professionals from diverse backgrounds with a variety of skill sets. The BOA team has a wealth of expertise in Business Intelligence, Workforce Analytics, Project Management, and Process Improvement. We apply these skills daily as we support Transaction & Document Processing with workforce optimization and business operations analytics.

Responsibilities will include forecasting payment and deposit trends to assist scheduling and staffing and then create and propose recommendations to management and leadership. Areas of focus may include operational dashboard creation, machine learning model optimization, and process mapping. It will be essential for the team member in this position to be a quick learner—to understand the business needs and determine how to answer them using data and analysis—and then use that information to propose recommendations to business leaders.

Responsibilities

  • Provide actionable business intelligence in consultation with management and business units for use in daily and strategic decision making
  • Apply industry best practices and standards to create optimum solutions that improve business performance
  • Conduct analytical studies to provide results/recommendations to senior management for department and enterprise-wide strategic initiatives.
  • Perform qualitative and quantitative analysis relating to operational functions, workflow, processes, and other business-related issues
  • Develop and present proposal on findings from analysis and research to management up to and including senior executives
  • Become integrated into and participate in the day-to-day strategy, analysis, and operations of the team

Qualifications

  • Must be pursuing an undergraduate or higher degree from an accredited college/university
  • Experience with research, analysis, and data manipulation
  • Experience using data and analytic tools such as: Tableau, SQL, Python, R, or PowerBI
  • Good communication and presentation skills
  • Comfort working with large datasets and telling stories with data
  • Ability to work independently and think outside of the box
  • Strong strategic, critical, and analytical thinking skills
  • Basic knowledge of financial services/payments a plus

Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:00AM – 4:30PM (Subject to change based on business need)

Navy Federal is now hybrid! Our standard enterprise requirement for a hybrid schedule is to report on-site 4-16 days each month. The number of days reporting on-site will ultimately be determined by the employee’s leadership and business unit needs. You will learn more throughout the hiring and on boarding process.

Salary Range: $15.00 – $30.10 hourly

Navy Federal Credit Union assesses market data to establish salary ranges that enable us to remain competitive. Within this range, pay will be determined based on factors such as individual qualifications, location, and market position.
