Job Title: Student Tutor

Location: As Assigned by OPS Administration

Reports To: Building Principal/School Counselor

Work Schedule/FLSA Status: Hourly/Non-exempt

Salary Schedule: Non-negotiated, $12.00 per hour

Essential Performance Responsibilities

Provides teaching assistance to other students

Maximum weekly work schedule of 16 hours per week.

Availability: 30-60 minutes at least three times per week.

May perform other related duties as assigned by supervisory personnel.

Follows oral and written directions accurately

Equipment: This position may require the ability to use basic office equipment such as computers, copiers, scanners, and fax machine. Must always comply with OPS’s guidelines for equipment use.

Qualifications

Must be at least 16 years of age

Must be currently enrolled in an OPS high school

Must be in good academic standing with a 2.0 GPA or above.

Demonstrate proficiency of the English language to read and communicate with others

Demonstrate high academic ability

Ability to become a mentor and role model to other students

Evidence of sensitivity and respect for others

Ability to interact with others in a courteous, professional manner

Ability to serve as a positive role model

Ability to apply simple understanding to carry out detailed but basic written and/or oral instructions

Ability to read and use information from written materials and visual displays

Ability to use hand-held tools and general office equipment frequently

Ability to work in sitting position on a frequent basis throughout the work shift
