Student Trainee ( Personnel Psychologist )

The USAID Internship Program (Fall 2022) is designed to provide Interns with substantive work assignments, which expose them to the benefits of a Federal career. This position is in the Office of Human Capital and Talent Management. The program provides valuable opportunities for Industrial/Organizational (I/O) Psychology students to gain hands-on experience in applied research and to form professional relationships with USAID HR specialists and I/O Psychologists.

  • You will conduct statistical analyses of data, to include descriptive statistics, correlational analyses, and significance testing, using statistical software.
  • You will complete research tasks as part of the management of large, complex projects or programs.
  • You will assist with developing and delivering presentations to various stakeholder groups explaining statistical analyses and study results
  • You will prepare written materials, develop a variety of reports, and briefings.

Conditions of Employment

  • United States Citizenship is required.
  • Enrolled in a qualifying academic program.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
  • Males born after 12/31/1959 must be registered with the Selective Service.
  • Direct Deposit/Electronic Funds Transfer is required.
  • Min. GPA 2.0 undergraduate; Min. GPA 3.0 graduate
  • Must sign pathways agreement, if selected.

Qualifications

Familiar with statistical software packages (e.g., SPSS, SAS, R)

Experience using Word, PowerPoint, Excel

Experience developing and/or administering surveys

Qualifying education must have been obtained from an accredited college or university recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.

Eligibility Requirements

GS-9 – Completion of 2 academic years of graduate-level education, a master’s degree, or equivalent graduate degree.

GS-11- Applicants currently enrolled in a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M.
