Position Summary
Promote McGill’s School of Continuing Studies as a major institution of international caliber offering re-skilling/upskilling credit and non-credit undergraduate and graduate certificates, graduate diplomas, and customized programs. Oversee and administer SCS recruitment activities, including working closely with SCS Communications Office and integrating current and future student information and student CRM system. Provide guidance to prospective students, applicants, current students, and staff.
Primary Responsibilities
- Identify and recommend new student recruitment opportunities in existing and new markets
- Participate in the initiation and implementation of an annual recruitment strategy and provide data and other information required to that end.
- Responsible for proposing and implementing a recruitment action plan, including organizing info sessions and other recruitment activities.
- Assist the Associate Dean, SSEM (or designate) to identify profitable customized offering opportunities
- Explore new markets by growing client relations and accounts and explore and propose new revenue streams (domestic and international).
- Assist the Associate Dean, SSEM with contract proposals with partnering institutions and recruiting agencies, letters of agreement, memorandum of understanding, etc.
- Serve as internal recruitment portfolio lead for international recruitment agencies (B2C) and institutional partners (B2B)
- Oversee recruitment portfolio initiatives and projects
- Research, review applications and admissions data, and provide recommendations to enhance recruitment and enrolment initiatives.
- Propose and maintain professional contacts to keep abreast of latest developments in recruitment approaches used by McGill including Global Engagement Office and Enrolment Services Recruitment team and other universities.
- Raise the University’s profile by building and maintaining strong relationships with partners and other external contacts and organizations.
- Support institutional partners’ promotional strategies and monitoring of enrolment targets set through service agreements
- SSEM divisional lead for recruitment-related activities, social media and promotional material; responsible for keeping student recruitment collateral materials up-to-date by working in collaboration with Communications team.
- Administer, mentor, and support a team of advisors/administrative support staff
- Keep abreast of emerging trends in university and continuing education recruitment
- Act as primary resource to staff for student recruitment and enrolment management best practices, including both conversion and retention strategies.
- Liaise with internal units and external organizations
- Ensure all relevant study offerings and program developments are communicated externally through onboarding, training, and information sessions.
- Prepare, assist and deliver customer/ partner/agent presentations.
- Serve as the liaison of SCS for local and international recruitment activities including but not limited to individual and/or team visits, representing McGill during Salons, career fairs, Open House, tradeshows, conferences and conventions in Quebec, Canada and abroad.
- Participate in the development and implementation of the yearly pre-departure orientation (PDO) , Orientation and Welcome activities calendar for new and returning students
- Represents SCS and/or SSEM at committees upon expertise required
- Other duties as required

- Proven leadership, initiative, determination and creativity in solving problems
- Ability to manage multiple projects with demonstrated strong planning, organization, data-driven priority-setting and problem-solving skills
- Excellent interpersonal, relation-building, and communication skills to interact positively and effectively on a professional level with internal and external parties
- Aptitude to work in a service-oriented environment as both a member of a team and independently
- Intermediate level skills in MS Office 365
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize work, meet deadlines and work under pressure with minimal supervision
- Ability to foster a positive team environment
- Valid Quebec driver’s license and Canadian Passport.
- Ability to travel for off-campus recruitment events and conferences
- Availability to work evenings and weekends during peak periods
- Knowledge of French and English. McGill University is an English-language university where day to day duties may require English
communication both verbally and in writing.
