Title: Structural Engineering Co-op Student – Saskatoon Office

Position Summary

Hatch is seeking a Structural Engineering Co-op Student for a 16 month co-op starting in May 2022. Reporting to the Structural Engineering Lead, you will support projects globally working from the Saskatoon office.

Work Term: May 2022-August 2023.

Responsibilities

  • The position will allow candidates to directly apply and develop their knowledge in structural steel and concrete analysis and design for heavy industrial structures and foundations for both front end planning studies and the detailed engineering phase for multidiscipline projects.
  • Students will be assigned to work closely with experienced engineers who will provide guidance and mentoring.

Education And Experience

  • The successful candidate will be a 3rd or 4th year student working toward a degree in Civil Engineering with specific interest in structural analysis and design. Successful completion of, or enrollment in structural engineering courses is required.
  • Familiarity with CAD/Design software applications such as MathCAD, Excel, SAP2000, STAAD.Pro, Microstation and AutoCAD will be considered an asset;
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Positive attitude, understand innovation, will be self-motivated, quick to deliver and a team player;
  • High regard for job safety and quality work;
  • Analytical problem solvers with excellent computer skills.
