The International Institute for Environment and Development (IIED) is a policy and action research organisation promoting sustainable development and linking local priorities to global challenges. The Communications Group works with all parts of our organisation and acts as a critical resource and centre of expertise, whilst operating to a budget of c £1.5m.

We are now looking for a Strategic Campaigns Manager to join the Communications Team on a full-time, permanent basis.

The Role

Working with our Comms team, and in collaboration with researchers and partners, you will devise dynamic communications and campaign strategies that engage and influence our target audiences. You will help to translate often complex research topics and results into clear and accessible messages and present those in the right way to the right audiences.

You will need to gain a broad understanding of our research content and how it supports our strategic propositions. The role involves developing campaigns to support our research, engage audiences, lead to influence and impact and reinforce IIED’s contribution to tackling global challenges.

About You

To be considered as a Strategic Campaigns Manager, you will need:

– Communications, project planning and management experience

– A professional qualification in Communications or equivalent CPD

International applicants must have the right to work in the country in which you wish to reside, with a time difference of no more than plus or minus two hours from UK (GMT/BST).

The salary range advertised in GBP is applicable in the UK only. The salary offer in another country would depend on the local terms and conditions. We only use the UK salary structure to determine starting salaries, but it will not apply to salaries outside the UK thereafter.

IIED is a hybrid working organisation and you are likely to be working from home most of the time. As such, you will need a suitable place to work and a reliable, fast internet connection.

Interviews are likely to take place on w/c 26th February 2024.

Please note as part of the interview process, there will be a written task.
