About the role

We have a new and exciting opportunity for a Stock Condition Surveying Manager to join the Guinness Team. This is a permanent, full-time vacancy which is based in either our London or Oldham office. We are currently working to a hybrid working style, working 2 days per week in the office and 3 from home. As such, it is a requirement for candidates to be able to work 2 days per week from either location mentioned above.

The overall purpose of the role is to devise, implement, manage and validate a rolling annual programme of property surveys in order to provide robust information for the formulation of stock reinvestment programmes, actions arising from risk assessments and for financial planning purposes.

You’ll be able to demonstrate:

Essential:

  • Good technical building knowledge and familiarity with the features and lifecycle issues associated with different construction types and materials.
  • Significant experience of property surveying techniques and methodologies.
  • Good knowledge of energy efficiency and carbon saving measures for housing.
  • Good knowledge of Decent Homes legislation & HHSRS.
  • Ability to undertake assessments of property in line with standard approaches.
  • Strong data literacy and familiarity with techniques used to quality assure stock condition data.
  • Experience of writing clear and concise reports.
  • Excellent oral and written communications.
  • Excellent knowledge of housing and asset management systems, mobile devices and Microsoft Office.
  • Demonstrates the Guinness Behaviours.

Desirable:

  • Experience of working within the Social Housing Sector and in particular the collection and management of property condition data.
  • Experience of communicating technical information to non specialists.
  • Previous line management experience, ideally with a geographically dispersed team.

Essential qualifications:

  • Level 6 (Degree or equivalent) in Surveying or Construction & Building Environment.
