This remote position pays 180 GBP/day for a total of approximately 60 days between August and March 2023. Exact schedule and timeline of deliverables to be discussed with the final candidate.

Responsibilities:

  • Feed that research and resources into partner reference resources;
  • Direct support to members of the expert team to find relevant resources to assist them with their development work;
  • Attendance and note-taking at project meetings, and one to one consultation meetings with experts on specific tools, editing and review of work;
  • Receipt, organization and basic collation of feedback from virtual consultation meetings;
  • Support to the experts during editing and consultation response/adaptation phase;
  • Support to the lead consultant with desk research and recommendations for piloting opportunities;
  • Participate in and support the lead consultant on country visits for scoping, meeting, and creating work plans, budgets, timing, and support needs for piloting of tools;
  • Work with lead consultant and IT/web designer on conceptualisation of online version of the toolkit;
  • Serving as an administrative bridge between the programme management team and the experts in terms of preparing monthly updates on the work and progress;
  • Organising record- keeping of project correspondence and work materials for the team; and
  • Any other assistance as reasonably requested by the technical or project team.

Required Qualifications

  • An advanced degree in law, human rights, or associated field;
  • At least 2 years’ experience in either criminal justice processes or in researching justice issues;
  • Verbal and written English fluency;
  • Strong research skills across disciplines;
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills;
  • Understanding of criminal justice functions and processes in different jurisdictions;
  • Excellent record-keeping skills;
  • Ability to work independently to meet competing deadlines; and
  • Ability to travel to countries in Eastern Europe and/or central Africa.

Desirable:

  • Experience working in criminal justice systems, including international criminal tribunals;
  • Experience working on or researching CRSV or on the stigma associated with sexual violence;
  • Experience working with experts and in multi-disciplinary teams;
  • A gender (and intersectional) lens to their work;
  • A good understanding of survivor-centred approaches; and
  • An understanding of implicit bias, stigma and sexual violence myths and misunderstandings.
