Stationary Engineering Intern

Status: Non-Exempt (hourly)

Department: 271 Stationary Engineering

Location: Spokane, WA

Position Summary

Plug Power Inc. is actively seeking a highly motivated Intern. The Intern will be responsible for assisting the Stationary Engineering in a wide variety of initiatives and projects in support of the department. In this role, you will gain exposure to a fast-paced manufacturing and engineering environment which includes developing a detailed understanding of Plug Power’s products. The role will focus on the successful completion of technical projects, process improvement, documentation, and presentation of results at the end of the program.

Project Summary

• The intern will support the development and testing of a new fuel cell product for the stationary power market. This work will increase the students’ knowledge of electro-mechanical systems and the operation of fuel cells.

Core Duties And Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain a detailed understanding of all Plug Power products
• Work with senior level engineers and management to interpret and analyze data
• Assist in developing engineering processes with guidance from senior level engineers and management
• Mechanical aptitude and ability to sufficiently make minor repairs as necessary
• Ability to independently set up experiments and monitor progress
• Understand engineering concepts and how to appropriately apply them in day-to-day projects
• Ability to critically analyze data in terms of system performance and reliability
• Represent Plug Power in a professional manner at all times and in all interactions
• Perform all other duties as assigned

Education And Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor of Science or master’s degree in Electrical or a related program
• Basic knowledge of electronics, Office products and Altium (Preferred)
• Prior Internship or Co-op experience preferred
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Background/experience with statistical analysis
• Possess solid hands-on approach to problem-solving
• Ability to manage complex projects and multi-task effectively
• Demonstrated analytical abilities with strong attention to detail
• Must be driven and self-motivated
