Overview

The National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB), the nation’s largest small business advocacy organization, looks to hire an Administrative Manager to join its State Government Relations team.

Responsibilities

The SGR Administrative Manager is responsible for assisting the SGR VP and overseeing the day-to-day operations of the SGR Department. Responsible for overseeing the SGR Budget process, develops and coordinates events and special projects. This includes managing and maintaining executive schedule including travel, conference calls, making appointments and changing appointments. Correspondence with the SGR team on projects, deadlines, and department processes. Serves as liaison for SGR with internal departments such as IT, Finance, Marketing, Facilities, and Member Care.

Must communicate effectively both verbally and in writing; work outcomes must meet and / or exceed productivity and quality standards. Must be able to work as part of a cooperative team environment and independent of direct supervision; adhere to Company and Department policies and procedures. Some travel may be required. Performs other projects as needed.

This role will be a hybrid role. Person must be in Nashville and able to work 2/3 days a week in the office. Starting salary: $80,000.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree or equivalent. Seven (7) years of Executive Administrative assistance experience in non-profit, trade group, or business setting. Project coordination is helpful.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office essential, including solid knowledge and experience in Excel and PowerPoint. Experience using a CRM system.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills necessary. Excellent organizational and time management skills, including budget monitoring, workload and assignment tracking, and development of timelines for major projects required.
  • Experience in coordinating travel plans and meeting arrangements preferred.
  • Professionalism, diplomacy, confidentiality, initiative, and sound judgment are essential. Must be flexible team player with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks under pressure.
  • Requires some travel (5-10 nights per year)
