Position Overview

Must be a CNA/Med Tech

The Staffing Coordinator is responsible for the effective administration,

coordination and presentation of Resident Services (direct care) training and development programs. This position is also responsible for assuring adequate and appropriate staffing as demonstrated through a minimum of a 14-day schedule of the community nursing department to meet the needs of the residents based on budget, census and as may be directed by community Leadership. This position may be required to work a care associate or CMA/ MedTech shift if shortages/callouts occur.

This position reports to the DOW and has a partnership with the Director of Finance/HR Director.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Support mission, vision, and goals of the organization, upholding and promoting company culture and vision.
  • Support consistent delivery of Quality Resident Care and Services as measured by:
  • Deficiency free state and/or federal surveys in the area of training demonstrating that associates have been trained per state requirements.
  • Resident Satisfaction Survey levels meet or exceed company averages signifying that the training program promotes the delivery of quality care & services.
  • Compliance of 100% with on-line training materials.
  • Support the achievement of the financial objectives of the facility as measured by:
  • Nursing department labor distribution demonstrates efficient and effective use of approved hours.
  • Manage Overtime hours within the guidelines as outlined by the Executive Director.
  • Deliver on commitment to be an Especially Good Place to Work as measured by:
  • Achievement of efficient and cost-effective scheduling of nursing staff.
  • Achieving benchmark retention objectives.
  • Manage the staffing schedule for the Health and Wellness department.
  • Coordinates and Conducts Skills Training annually
  • Assists with Monthly in-service training
  • Manages the clinical orientation process; to include on the floor training schedule/checklist completion and mentor program
  • Assist with developing departmental budget and staffing plan.
  • Be a person of contact for department new hires offering guidance/support in partnership with department heads.
  • In partnership with department directors, monitor RELIAS training completion. Push out reminders and reports as necessary to stay in compliance.
  • Support a positive community culture. Initiate associate programming which allows associates to use their talents in a way which supports the communities and inculcate a culture which values our associates.
  • Obtain and demonstrate knowledge of the Discover Your Spark Lifestyle and Wellness philosophy and its inherent core values. Support and participate in Discover Your Spark (e.g. assist with feedback groups, assist in new initiatives, encourage Residents and act as champions of fun).
  • Continue to develop job related knowledge, skills and abilities by participating in continuing educational opportunities for personal growth and development.
  • Perform other duties as assigned. Attend in-service classes and staff meetings.

What We Expect From You

  • CNA or obtain license within six months
  • CMA/Medtech certification required
  • Experience working with people of different learning abilities and preferences
  • One year of senior living experience preferred
