How will you fight for an AIDS-free generation?

The Sr. Program Officer (PO) will support the Catalyzing COVID Action (CCA) Project, COVID related projects, and emerging diseases preparedness. The CCA project supports a generation of novel evidence on COVID service model and new therapeutics to inform policy guidelines and further scale up. It introduces effective and innovative models of care to improve detection of cases, increases uptake and access to care and treatment, and creates enabling policy and regulatory environment at the national and sub-national levels. It also ensures the sustainability of services in Cameroon, Zimbabwe and Kenya. In addition to CCA, EGPAF is also involved in other COVID-related works in different countries.

The Sr. Program Officer will be a key member of the global project team, with staff located in the US, Switzerland, and Africa. The global team will provide oversight, strategic vision, and support to effectively implement the projects and ensure coordination with EGPAF’s existing program portfolio. The Sr. PO will provide support to HQ and country team in project implementation and monitoring, including tracking, documentation and other related activities. They will also provide high quality program and operations support to country teams, and coordinate multiple operational and programmatic components.

No two days are alike at EGPAF, but what can you expect as a Title?

  • Support the Sr. Technical Director, CCA Project Director, and other senior team members at the global and country level to design, plan, and implement the CCA project and other related projects.
  • Serve as a key focal point and institutional resource for program implementation along with the CCA Project Director.
  • Support and facilitate the development of annual and semi-annual updating of country operational plans and budgets.
  • Lead the development of technical and programmatic reports to Unitaid and other donors, as well as internal EGPAF report.

  • Support monitoring of implementation, timelines, grant spending, and disbursement for CCA.

  • Support country teams in use of data for decision making and ensuring program result.

  • Lead strategic information sharing, communication, connection, and coordination between global teams and country teams.

  • Lead the development of the necessary systems, processes, and tools to better support the facilitation, collection, and sharing of knowledge that is generated by the program.

  • Provide support for the production of presentations of the project.

  • Contribute to the development of high-quality communication material with active coordination between the global project teams for content and the EGPAF External Affairs team for product design and development.

To be successful, you will have:

  • Grad degree in Public Health, development, international relations, or other relevant field
  • 7 years of relevant professional experience; experience with NGOs and donors
  • Experience contributing to the design and/or implementation of complex health intervention projects
  • Unwavering commitment to quality programs and excellence in organizational and project management with the ability to achieve strategic objectives
  • Ability to clearly communicate and work effectively in collaboration with diverse groups of people
  • Ability to travel up to 45% of time annually

Bonus points if you have:

  • Experience working with HIV, TB, COVID, or other infection diseases
  • Fluency in French
  • Experience in communications/external affairs
