SharkNinja

About SharkNinja:

SharkNinja is a relentless innovator in the housewares industry because we sweat the details. We obsess about consumer satisfaction. We build up our company by building up our people. We seize opportunities—individually and collectively—to be competitive with our products and attract the most talented people in the world. Through an unrelenting focus on solving for consumer’s pain points, SharkNinja has built a loyal and passionate following that continues to garner us 5‑star ratings on our products. It’s that unwavering consumer focus that has enabled Shark to become one of the top brands in vacuum cleaners, and for Ninja to become one of the market leaders in the kitchen category.

About the role:

  • Our fast-paced environment requires real-time data insights to drive business decisions, and this role is a key component of that capability. We are looking for an experienced leader to partner with the business as their “customer relationship manager” and deliver the data products they need to do their job. You will be embedded in the business and a seamless part of the Finance, People and Culture, Legal and IT teams. As part of this team, you will have intimate knowledge of the inner workings of the team and how data can help inform decisions and streamline processes. You will have end to end responsibility for delivering the needed data assets to your “clients” via an iterative development process. Additionally, you will be evangelizing the benefits of digital transformation and the opportunities in efficiency that it brings. This is a highly dynamic role with considerable executive visibility. It will be a launching point for added responsibilities in the Data team, across IT, or within the business. As a people manager, you will be responsible for recruiting and developing a high-performance team. You will leverage your experience and partnership with other pillar leads in Data and other IT functions to bring process maturity, KPIs and clarity of the role to the team.

About you:

  • You feed off the reactions of your “internal clients” when you deliver projects that save them time and/or money. You have an entrepreneurial mindset, are ok with ambiguity and have a sense of urgency in delivering your work. You can’t stomach wasted time and won’t tolerate inefficiencies. You understand that each company has its culture, and in the process of business transformation, there is a fine line between evolution and revolution. You thrive on close collaboration across departments and organizational levels and have the skills and emotional intelligence to be a trusted partner with the business stakeholders. You can dig into the details of today, while thinking strategically about the direction of tomorrow. You are ok with rolling up your sleeves to do the work when needed. You know what is happening on all programs, while also provide space for junior team members to not feel micro-managed. You seek out learning opportunities and have a growth mindset.

Hard Skills

  • 5+ years of experience in Data Analytics and/or Business Intelligence and delivering curated analytical insights to non-technical internal business customers
  • Very strong business acumen across multiple disciplines
  • Outstanding executive presence
  • 10+ years of program management experience and implementing best practices
  • 3+ years of direct management experience with some of the following roles: BAs, developers, testers, technical program managers, data stewards/governance specialists and deep knowledge in at least one of these areas
  • 2+ years of experience in requirements gathering and testing best practices
  • Skilled at risk identification and mitigation
  • General understanding of Finance, HR, IT and Legal business processes and data
  • Thorough understanding of the SharkNinja success factors and how to apply them
  • An exceptional team player that adjusts their message to their audience and utilizes intrinsic motivation to have their team move mountains
  • A driven, self-starter personality that seeks out difficult challenges
  • Able to engage at the appropriate level of detail for the situation and the capabilities of the team

Responsibilities:

  • Act as a sage for all things data for your pillar’s executive(s) and his/her team, including defining roadmap(s) for data, data analytics, BI, governance and data science
  • Participate in customers internal meetings (strategic, team meetings, etc)
  • Identify opportunities where the Data team or other parts of IT would be able to reduce business risks, enhance opportunities, or remove pain points
  • Establish realistic expectations while also not being alarmist
  • Work with customer to submit intake requests and requirements definitions
  • Prioritize the work in your pillar and communicate the prioritization to the appropriate stakeholders
  • Overcommunication about the status of deliverables to internal customers
  • Work with testing teams and PMO to ensure that quality products are delivered to our internal customers
  • Balance the execution of day-to-day operations and setting strategy for your pillar
  • Manage resource loading of your team members and identify/communicate possible resource constraints early
  • Recruit, train, develop and retain excellent talent
  • Set the pace of urgency and quality across your team
  • Identify risks, develop mitigations and be transparent about good and bad news
