General Summary

Qualcomm is looking for an experienced attorney to support its Technology Licensing division in San Diego, California. Responsibilities include participating in patent licensing negotiations to present Qualcomm’s IP portfolio, including preparing and presenting claim charts and other negotiation materials, interfacing with outside counsel on patent infringement and validity analysis, collaborating with counsel across multiple jurisdictions to ensure compliance with local jurisdictional practices and laws, and analyzing third-party patent portfolios. We are looking for candidates that are proactive, have extraordinary attention to detail, show excellent judgement, work independently and collaboratively, and have a solid understanding and experience in communications technologies, standards organizations such as 3GPP and IEEE, cellular industry practices, domestic and international patent laws, and FRAND licensing principles.

Minimum Qualifications

Juris Doctorate degree or international equivalent.

Work Experiences

Active bar license to practice law in the state or jurisdiction where the employee will be practicing (or ability to obtain upon hiring).

8+ years relevant experience as counsel at a law firm or in-house.

Work Experiences

10+ years in practice with relevant experience. ,7+ years experience as counsel at a law firm or in-house with a focus on relevant specialty (e.g., technology, real estate). ,4+ years in a leadership role with direct reports in a legal function (only applies to positions with direct reports).
