JOB SUMMARY:

CARE has big ambitions to achieve Gender Equal, Locally Led, and Globally Scaled impact that measurably improves 200M people’s lives by 2030. The Sr. Director- Women’s Economic Justice (SD-WEJ) is a critical role that will lead the Women’s Economic Justice team to deliver on roadmap to impact 45m people, growing WEJ revenue to $50m and lead our goal to generate best- in-class return on donor dollar, from x2 to x20 solutions. The SD-WEJ will lead 5-10 staff Director/Senior Manager level staff to set the vision and growth strategy, lead and performance manage senior WEJ program staff and advise global executive and senior leadership teams on thought leadership, growth and market strategy and programmatic impact to deliver on WEJ impact, revenue and ROI goals. This role will work across the leadership teams for Gender Equality, Food and Water Systems, Women’s Economic Justice, Climate Justice, Education and Health to deliver on 2030 goals.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Lead WEJ Vision, Strategy and Thought Leadership

  • The SD-WEJ will guide and oversee WEJ strategy integration across a complex matrix of senior stakeholders whilst aligning the WEJ strategy and resourcing with broader organizational goals and constraints. The SD-WEJ will oversee cross-cutting WEJ functions of Impact Monitoring, Revenue generation, Marketing, Comms and cross-RD and cross-Organizational integration of WEJ strategic plan into broader organizational initiatives. SD-WEJ will spearhead, draft and disseminate the WEJ Go-To Market strategy

Team Leadership and Performance Management

  • The SD-WEJ will lead 5-10 staff Director/Senior Manager level staff to set the vision, strategy and strategy implementation to hit impact and revenue goals by performance managing senior WEJ program staff and advising global executive and senior leadership teams on organizational dynamics, aligned incentives for success, implementation of program area growth plans and branding, impact and ROI performance-laddered KPIs for each.

Revenue Generation, Resource Mobilization and Proposal Stewardship

  • Lead, manage, implement, and refine WEJ Revenue Growth Strategy to hit $50m in Revenue by 2030. Technical programmatic leadership of up to 2 $10m+ priority proposals annually.
  • Lead Proposal Technical and Bid management teams including a VSLA Technical Advisor (who will manage 3x $5-10m bids annually) and a WE Technical Design Advisor (3 x $5-10m bids annually). Build out fundraising (Corp, Foundations, IFS, HNW) channel-specific 3-year revenue plans based on impact and ROI goals.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 10-15+ years of experience in International Development Strategy and Business Development.
  • MBA or equivalent in relevant field.
  • Knowledge of Corporate, USAID, Foundations and HNW donors and experience leading proposals for each is required.
  • Experience successfully guiding proposals and resource mobilization efforts across for profit and non-profit sectors and donor groups.
  • Strong understanding of strategy tools and processes needed to help WEJ set growth, branding and impact targets that reflect market and implementation realities.
  • Experience developing revenue strategy and value propositions for a portfolio of women’s financial inclusion programming.
  • Experience developing proposals for corporate client facing content and engaging with donors, fundraisers and resource development leadership for technical fundraising strategies
  • Successful track record of creating and delivering business development initiatives across diverse donor segments.
  • Passion for reducing poverty and women’s economics and financing.
