Kenvue is currently recruiting for a Sr. Category Manager, for Capital Expenditures, MRO, and Construction in Procurement.

What Will You Do

The Sr. Category Manager, Capital Expenditures, MRO, and Construction i s responsible for

  • Driving the development of category practices for Capital Expenditure, MRO, and Construction, including sourcing strategy definition, deployment, and stakeholder management
  • Maximizing the total cost of ownership of savings and procurement’s value contribution while achieving compliance with policies, strategies, and processes
  • Striving to meet the mutually agreed Procurement goals while contributing to the overall business budgeting targets
  • Delivering financial, ESG, service, and innovation targets as mandated by our global business

In addition to the elements mentioned above the Sr. Category Manager, Capital Expenditure, MRO, and Construction, is accountable to define and achieve clear targets in conjunction with their procurement counterparts and business stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities-

  • Defines procurement strategy for the external spend categories of Capital Expenditures, MRO, and Construction
  • Analyzes spend and defines the category profile, to incl. risk, supply base, and SRM strategy
  • Benchmarks best in class category practices externally to identify improvement opportunities
  • Builds category specific strategic plan in alignment with our global and regional stakeholders, financial budgets, and business goals.
  • Delivers procurement related ESG, service, and innovation targets
  • Leads global strategy implementation and savings realization for the Capital Expenditures, MRO, and Construction category
  • Initiates internal and external analysis (industry and supplier)
  • Consolidates requirements for procurement where necessary, acting as a key business partner cross-functionally to support the alignment and optimization of specifications
  • Supports both contract implementation and compliance
  • Is accountable for efficient alignment enablement / activation of negotiation outcomes within the category, instructing on new category updates, and providing clear instructions about the category strategy to enable compliance
  • Supports the work and efforts of a cross-functional procurement team in all stages of a strategic sourcing project
  • Collaborates and aligns with global / regional / local procurement teams as applicable
  • Supports and leads RFP process, supplier selection, and fact based negotiations
  • Contributes to innovative thought exchange throughout the Procurement organization
  • Collaborates with legal to finalize contractual agreements and the administration of those agreements
  • Works with procurement and business Leads to implement and activate contracts globally
  • Manages commercial supplier relationship management with key suppliers within the defined category scope
  • Maintains and manages relationships with suppliers identified as key suppliers in the selected category and region, supplier development activities, and monitors the performance of key strategic suppliers
  • Sets up regular cross-functional review meetings with key strategic suppliers in order to improve performance and further cost / demand opportunities
  • Supports the identification of potential contract improvement opportunities and re-negotiations
  • Manages relationship with key stakeholders
  • Provides input on volume/ specification/ price to build smart consumption policies
  • Acts as escalation point for category related issues and drives resolution in line with global Procurement policies
  • Achieves “buy-in” from key stakeholders when necessary for major procurement initiatives
  • Manages relationship with regional and local business units. Ensures that needs are being identified, represented and incorporated into category strategies
  • Promotes / escalates region specific procurement requirements on a global level including changes of local legislations and policies
  • Acts as point of contact for the business to assure business requirements are met

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree is required.MBA or other advanced degree in Business, Economics, Finance, Procurement, Legal or comparable field preferred.
  • A minimum of 8 years working experience in strategic sourcing, global category management , global energy initiatives and strategy/project implementation, business partner and supplier management
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of Energy industry to include-
  • Strong working knowledge of best practices in sustainability and energy management for facilities. Understanding the principles of green building, energy-efficient systems, waste management, and environmental certifications. Understanding the benefit and challenges of integrating renewable energy sources into procurement strategies.
  • Possess a deep understanding of the energy industry, including electricity, natural gas and renewable energy resources.
  • Expertise on global energy market trends, pricing dynamics, regulatory changes, and emerging technologies impacting the energy sector.
  • Critical knowledge of energy pricing mechanisms including fixed price contracts, index-based pricing, and energy derivatives.
  • Understanding risk management, assessment, and mitigation strategies for energy procurement, to include hedging, price forecasting, and managing exposure to price fluctuations.
  • Demonstrated leadership and deployment of best practices in ESG strategies is required
  • Proven track record delivering against a balanced portfolio of key performance indicators (KPIs) is required
  • Experience in identifying and harnessing customer oriented innovative solutions is required
  • Ability to influence and understand the diverse needs of stakeholders (e.g., Operations, EHS, ESG) is required
  • Expert category management in energy and sourcing execution on a global basis
  • Strong knowledge of procurement strategy development and conveyance
  • Strong knowledge of procurement tools and data, content, and automation
  • Expert in risk and compliance management
  • Project and process management knowledge and experience
  • Excellent presentation, communication, interpersonal and influencing skills
