Sr. Analyst, Global Treasury

The Need

For 25 years, IJM has pioneered the work to protect vulnerable people from violence. As we grow to expand our impact to protect 500 million people from violence by 2030, we are seeking a Sr. Analyst, Global Treasury.

The Sr. Analyst will play a pivotal role in the planning and execution of daily and period-end Treasury activities including managing the company’s cash flow forecast, optimizing cash flow, identifying cost-saving and profit maximizing opportunities, and ensuring compliance with treasury policies and regulatory compliance. Expertise in financial analysis, risk management, treasury technology, and cash management will contribute to our overall financial success. The Sr. Analyst will provide lead and support the treasury team with banking relationships, liquidity risk management, financing, ensuring adequate liquidity for IJM entities, risk management, and investment management.

This is a hybrid position based in the DC area OR remote in the US with requirement to work Eastern US workday hours.

Responsibilities:

Treasury Management: This position will oversee day to day treasury operations to ensure IJM’s liquidity and smooth cash flow to meet financial obligations and needs for operating, financing, investing, and other activities:

• Manage banking relationship, policy, training and compliance for the organization and all offices.
• Optimize strategic cash forecasting and intra-organizational cash flow;
• Approve cash funding requests from country offices/treasury analyst to maintain adequate liquidity while minimizing foreign currency exposure and trapped cash;
• Manage payment process and approvals;
• Manage treasury related compliance reporting and obligations;
• Develop and maintain accurate reporting on liquidity, debt, investments, letters of credit, etc. for management.
• Evaluate and report on treasury-related risks: debt, investments, manage risks related to interest rates and liquidity, and advise management of known risks;
• Manage and assess the global corporate credit card program that meets procurement, travel, and expense needs.

Treasury Strategy Development: This position will work with the Global Director, Treasury in the development of IJM’s short- and long-term global treasury strategies by partnering with leadership and Regional teams to position IJM to meet future needs and global positioning:

• Expand financial risk reporting and clearly communicate risks and mitigation plans.
• Develop and provide monthly management reporting of treasury functions to show results and highlight areas needing strategy changes or amendments (i.e. financial income & expense, foreign currency gains & losses, and investments & cash reserves).
• Implement a global banking plan that will support IJM’s future growth.
• Develop and implement treasury technology strategies to meet the growing needs for the organization and provides flexibility for the future.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure donation payment rails are defined and configured to minimize manual intervention, protects the organization, protects PII of our donors, while ensuring least cost routing and potential errors.

Treasury Technology: This role will be responsible for managing and optimizing the technology systems and tools used within the treasury department. This position will work closely with both the treasury team, internal technology team, and senior management to implement, maintain, and enhance the treasury technology stack.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement, configure, and maintain treasury management systems, financial risk management tools, and other technology platforms used in treasury operations.
• Ensure proper integration of treasury systems with other financial and enterprise systems.
• Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues to resolve technical problems promptly.

Risk Management: This role is responsible for identifying, assessing, and managing financial risks associated with an organization’s treasury operations. This role involves analyzing market conditions, evaluating risk exposure, and implementing strategies to mitigate risk and safeguard the organization’s financial health.

• Support the assessment and management of financial and operational risks related to treasury activities.
• Implement and maintain risk management tools to monitor and mitigate foreign exchange, interest rate, counterparty, and inflation risks.
• Assess foreign exchange translation and transaction risks and oversee accounting revaluation requirements for financial statement reporting.
• Recommend and implement risk management strategies and policies.
• Identify exposures, determine appropriate hedges based on policy, execute hedge strategy.
• Stay up to date on global treasury regulatory compliance needs and ensure that the organization complies with all local laws and regulations.
• Evaluate and report on treasury-related risks: debt, investments, manage risks related to interest rates and liquidity, and advise management of known risks.

Global Treasury Governance

• Oversee the creation, revision, and communication of Global Treasury policies and procedures.
• Regularly review business processes and practices to assess compliance with established policies for country offices.
• Develop and deliver training programs to educate employees about policy requirements, updates, and implications.
• Create and maintain documentation and reporting required by Global Treasury policies from country offices.
• Regularly assess the effectiveness of policies and procedures and recommend enhancements based on evolving business needs and compliance landscape.

Networking & Partnership: This position will develop and maintain relationships across all IJM Regions, Global Functions, and Support Services to provide quality services, and optimize financial risk management of business activities and reputational risk management with donors/funders:

• Develop an effective framework to analyze and address internal customer needs.
• Work closely with Treasury and Regional teams to implement new revenue generating initiatives as needed.
• Develop and maintain healthy partnerships with banks, investment advisors, and FX traders.
• Work with external advisors to obtain projected economic (inflation factors) and foreign exchange data for IJM to use in developing long-term plans.

Requirements:

Education & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Business: Finance, Accounting, or related field required;
• CTP required
• Minimum of 5-7 years’ experience in treasury, treasury risk management, banking, and/or financial analysis for a multinational business or not-for-profit organization
• Experience working with Cross functional operations and multi-cultural environments preferred
• Project management experience preferred
• Treasury technology experience preferred
