The Intersectoral Strategy for the Reduction of Food Losses and Waste in Brazil aims to coordinate actions aimed at preventing and reducing food losses and waste in Brazil, through more integrated and intersectoral management of government and society initiatives. In the current format and content, it aims to promote an inclusive process to determine critical points, causes of losses and waste at different levels, possible solutions and levels of intervention, and determining an action plan that includes the different actors.

Due to changes in national and international contexts related to the food loss and waste agenda, the content of the Strategy requires review and adaptation to the most recent recommendations from international agencies and agreements, to provide updated, qualified, and coordinated content for government and society’s actions.
