The Role…
The Group SOX Compliance Assistant Manager will be part of the Group Finance Team responsible for the implementation of the Global SOX Programme through execution of the SOX Testing plan and supporting with controls remediation projects. Using a risk-based approach, you will scope and prioritise key business processes and understand the risks relating to underlying key Systems and Applications.
Main Duties…
- Support the end-to-end Internal Controls over Financial Reporting (ICFR) compliance for the Company, including Business Process controls, and Entity Level Controls (ELC), to ensure Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance;
- Perform SOX Internal risk assessments based on qualitative and quantitative factors to determine the annual SOX scope, including key systems
- Performance of design and Operating Effectiveness testing over SOX controls throughout the year;
- Report on results of controls testing, including developing remediation plans for any control deviations identified and determine adequacy of mitigating controls;
- Support with the preparation of reporting on SOX scoping, testing status and observations for stakeholders including process owners, management, leadership and the Audit Committee;
- Effectively manage the SOX Testing plan, with the ability to be flexible to varying needs.
Requirements
- Suitable for a recently qualified ACA/CIMA/ACCA or IIA.
- Minimum of 3 years’ financial audit and internal controls experience.
- Prior experience of global group SOX infrastructures and US SOX PCOAB/COSO 404 controls.
- Prior knowledge and experience of IT General Controls (ITGCs) preferred, but not essential.
- Good knowledge of SOX application and scalability.
- Excellent communication skills, written and verbal.
- Proficiency with Excel, Visio, Word and other MS Office applications.
- Ability to adjust priorities and manage time appropriately and wisely in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong interest in the continued development of the SOX, Risk and Compliance function.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships across departments in the UK and overseas.
- Self-motivated with a strong technical background.
- Highly organised with strong project management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and to analyse data effectively, efficiently and accurately.
- The successful candidate will be a committed, team player has a proven ability to deliver to demanding deadlines.
