We are seeking highly motivated Sonographers keen to develop and advance their clinical practice whilst delivering high quality ultrasound services to patients close to their homes.
The new Ultrasound service at the Bodmin community diagnostic centre provides exciting opportunities for progressive clinical pathways supported by new operating and training models.
You will join a friendly, forward thinking and highly professional Imaging team who will be keen to support your learning and development in this very interesting clinical specialty.
As a Sonographer at Royal Cornwall Hospitals NHS Trust (RCHT) you will work autonomously within and across multi-professional teams, working flexibly to provide a 7-day Ultrasound service to improve patient diagnosis and treatment outcomes.
There is a responsibility for vetting referrals from clinicians and for managing and prioritising both clinical and administrative workload within the Ultrasound service.
You will produce comprehensive, detailed ultrasound reports in accordance with Clinical Imaging Directorate protocols, national and professional guidelines and policies.
Although based at our Bodmin CDC, travel to other sites across the County will be required to support you development and the wider Clinical Imaging team with service delivery.

We are actively involved in research, digital and artificial intelligence projects and support trainees from the South West Radiology Academy in Plymouth, Student Radiographers from the Universities of Exeter and Plymouth and a significant number of Apprenticeships, with many opportunities for Sonographers to further train in sub-specialist scanning areas of interest aligned to service requirements
