You are an Engineering Manager in the Couchbase Mobile team. Couchbase is growing rapidly, and the Mobile team is at the forefront of our growth. You’ll join at an ideal time to make a big impact as we continue to expand our Mobile ecosystem. You will lead the team by managing the team, recruiting excellent engineers, driving the release process, and mentoring junior engineers.

This role is based in our Manchester, UK office 3+ days per week.

Responsibilities Include

  • Manage and grow a team of talented engineers, ensuring they deliver high quality, timely work and that they are happy, motivated, and growing
  • Contribute to shaping the future of the engineering organization
  • Use agile methodologies to ensure new features are delivered in a timely manner
  • Reviewing code to ensure specifications are implemented, software is correct
  • Mentoring junior engineers helping them to become productive and self sufficient

Qualifications

  • You have 5+ years of mobile device development experience on at least one of:
  • Android
  • iOS
  • .NET/Xamarin
  • Demonstrates excellent time management skills and the ability to make realistic assessments of product complexity
  • Worked in a distributed team environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience being a manager/project lead for a software development team
  • previous experience managing and developing graduates/ junior engineers
