IBD, the Investment Banking Division of SG CIB, offers a global advisory approach focused on strategic dialogue with clients. Building on long-term relationships based on trust, IBD offers clients the whole range of services offered by SG CIB and the Société Générale Group, with a particular focus on investment banking activities. SG CIB client reach is worldwide with solid local expertise thanks to our platforms in Europe (France, the UK, Germany, Italy, Iberia and the CEEMEA region), the Americas and Asia.
Corporate Finance has an integrated worldwide set-up offering a comprehensive range of advisory and capital raising services to accompany its clients thanks to strong sector and product knowledge, and proven capabilities in both local and cross-border executions. The corporate finance activity is about accompanying clients on their strategic investment banking needs from mergers & acquisitions, equity capital markets transactions (such as IPO, ABBs, or capital increases) and structured equity solutions (such as equity-linked products).
CEEMEA Corporate Finance team covers a wide territory across Central and Eastern Europe, Middle East, and Africa, in addition to Nordics, Netherlands and the UK, in close coordination with SG country, product and sector teams.
Mission:
This is an ideal opportunity for an Analyst to join an established Corporate Finance franchise within a leading European bank. The position will bring a well-rounded perspective of the development of financial advisory across the CEEMEA region. The potential candidate will be joining a highly successful team in a hardworking but friendly atmosphere. The analyst will be involved in origination and execution of transactions across corporate finance solutions (especially M&A and ECM transactions), in coordination with Industry Groups and country teams and will report to the Co-Heads of CEEMEA Corporate Finance.
The position will be based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
Tasks and responsibilities:
Participation in all stages of the execution of Corporate Finance transactions (M&A and ECM mandates) across the CEEMEA geographies
Preparation of presentations for clients, investors, and the broader investment community
Performing financial modeling including valuation analyses, convertible bond impact, EPS Accretion/Dilution in M&A or ECM transactions, right issues modeling
Working in close coordination with other country and products teams in an international deal-making environment
Keeps up to date about M&A and equity related topics and activity across the CEEMEA geographies
Efficient supervision of interns and owns responsibility of their work
Comply with all Risk and regulatory obligations where relevant
Responsibility for ensuring that you are fully aware of and adhere to internal Policies that relate to you, your business or other businesses for which you have any level of responsibility
Responsibility for reading, understanding, and complying with the Company’s Conduct and Standards and corresponding regulations
Liaising with other external advisors and clients at both the origination stage, as well as at the execution stage
Profile Required
Studies & experience:
Bachelor’s degree
Solid knowledge of Corporate Finance concepts and Corporate Finance related products (in particular M&A and Equity Capital Markets)
Previous confirmed experience in execution of M&A and/or ECM transactions is a plus
Language skills:
English – fluent
Additional language(s) across CEEMEA geographies is a plus
Technical, operational & Soft skills:
Solid accounting knowledge
Standard to solid modeling skills (ex: 3 financial statements mechanism, basic bridge items)
Good knowledge of various methodologies including discounted cash flows, leveraged buyout, trading comparables and transaction comparables
High degree of numeracy and well-developed analytical skills
Exceptional attention to detail
Good time management skills
Result driven and able to perform well under pressure and against tight deadlines
Insightful, reasoned, curious and ambitious to become a top quality investment banker
Ability to articulate complex issues in written and oral communication
Ability to work autonomously on defined tasks
Good team player able to interact across a variety of cultures
Excellent communication skills and positive mood is a must
