Base location: Priory House, Shefford – with Agile Working from home and travel to other locations

More About The Role

The North Locality Older Person’s Team is a highly professional Adult Social Care team assessing the social care needs of people aged 65+ who live in the areas of Mid Bedfordshire and Iven Valley (Flitwick, Ampthill, Sandy, Biggleswade and the surrounding villages). We are currently looking to recruit a Level 1 social worker to join our busy and multi-skilled team. We are happy to consider an ASYE and will offer the appropriate development for a newly qualified social worker. The Team forms part of the Community Assessment Service and practices at the cutting edge of Adult Social Care with a strong focus on improving customer outcomes in a person-centred way.

As a new or recently qualified social worker, you will be expected gain more experience to develop your ability to undertake Care Act assessments, manage Safeguarding Adult s42 enquiries, support Continuing Health Care meetings, and have a good knowledge of adult social care legislation in order to promote person centred practice and understand the needs of the people we assess.

Our collective practice has a strong focus on early prevention and optimising levels of independence. We are a progressive team who offer manageable caseloads and a friendly, supportive work environment. Whilst our office base is Priory House, Shefford we work in an agile manner. IT equipment is provided to support both home and office working.

The successful candidate must have a recognised Social Work qualification and registration with Social Work England. Your values will demonstrate a commitment to an enabling, strengths-based approach in promoting people’s outcomes and independence. You will also show commitment to working in a manner that evidences best practice and professional pride at all times.
