Position Description

The Free the Slaves internship program is a formal effort to develop and train future leaders of the anti-slavery movement. We seek to provide each participant with training and hands-on experience in various facets of anti-slavery programming. We encourage students to arrange academic credit as Free the Slaves internships offer direct exposure to the workings of an international human rights organization and close supervision by FTS staff. Students should check with their individual academic institutions for requirements. In addition, interns are provided with a one-time stipend after the end of their internship.

Social Media Internship

This position reports directly to the MENA Regional Manager, based in Amman, Jordan. The Social Media Intern will support the establishment of social media platforms in the Middle East and North Africa region. This role involves brainstorm, pitch, and create new and engaging content with the goal to increase brand awareness, drive conversions to respective sites, and manage Free the Slaves Media brand image. The internship can take place remotely and can be full-time or part-time.

Key Responsibilities

  • Establish, monitor and post to social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn
  • Analyze post performance and analytics to gauge success.
  • Participate in brainstorms and content ideation

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will:

  • Must have a passion for social media marketing
  • Basic knowledge of creating graphics in Canva
  • Be fluent in English and Arabic, both written and spoken
  • Have excellent multi-tasking and be able to work both independently and within a team
  • Must have your own computer and reliable Wi-Fi
  • Be well organized, self-motivated, and reliable and should be able to work well both
