Overview: DT Global is seeking a dynamic and creative Social Media Intern to join our diverse Global Communications Team. The Social Media Intern will contribute to crafting an online presence that embodies our commitment to collaboration, innovation, and global impact.

Responsibilities include crafting engaging content for our social media platforms, tapping into compelling narratives of our projects and partnerships, and assisting with managing post schedules across different time zones. The Social Media Intern will help highlight the positive outcomes of our work and address the challenges faced by global communities using clear, professional, and accessible language.

Additionally, as part of our international team, the Social Media Intern will collaborate on posts that resonate across diverse audiences, contributing to our mission of making a meaningful impact on a global scale. We are looking for individuals who are passionate about fostering the connection between our organization and our follower.

This is a paid internship opportunity that will take place from approximately March – June, with the possibility for extension. The internship will be based in our Arlington, VA office (hybrid work schedule) or remotely within the U.S.

Tasks and Responsibilities:

Content Creation:

  • Assist in creating engaging and visually appealing content for various social media platforms
  • Support with editing posts received from other teams across our geographies.
  • Contribute fresh ideas to enhance our social media presence and connect with our audience.

Community Engagement

  • Assist in monitoring social media channels, responding to comments, and engaging with our online community.
  • Collaborate with the team to brainstorm and execute strategies to boost follower interaction.

Social Media Calendar Management

  • Support in maintaining and organizing the social media content calendar.
  • Assist in scheduling posts, ensuring timely and consistent content delivery (via Hootsuite) across different time zones.

Analytics and Reporting

  • Learn to utilize social media analytics tools to track performance and audience engagement.

Campaign Assistance

  • Contribute to the planning and execution of social media campaigns
  • Assist in coordination with team members for campaign activities.

Skills and Experience You’ll Gain:

Education & Minimum Qualifications:

  • 6 months of professional work experience
  • A passion for social media and digital marketing
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Strong copyediting skills
  • Good time management and organization skills
  • Proven experience with MS Office applications
  • Creative mindset with a keen eye for detail
  • Basic understanding of major social media platforms
  • Ability to adapt to a fast-paced and collaborative international work environment

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Interest in international development
  • If local, ability to attend events for social media coverage
  • Some knowledge of graphic design tools, such as Adobe Illustrator
