Context & Mission

The Social Media and Digital Officer is part of a team of six people who run the digital communications and fundraising activities for MSF Switzerland. The officer is responsible for establishing the social media goals and yearly planning and implements the planned activities.

The officer is responsible for MSF Switzerland’s presence in french speaking social media with a particular focus on Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube and aim at reinforcing and developing the online presence of MSF Switzerland in coordination with the MSF Zürich office and OCP.

The officer conducts digital communications projects and campaigns, monitors social media statistics, creates social media contents and produces reporting. The officer proposes activities in order to improve the qualitative and quantitative performance of the online presence of MSF Switzerland.

Upon request of the Head of the Digital Engagement unit, the officer can take up any specific project or campaign related to the digital activity.

Main responsibilities

Project Management

  • Implement digital projects and determine strategy/objectives
  • Develop recommendations and liaise with external/internal actors to ensure a good and timely execution
  • Act as a backup with the other digital project officer

Social Media

  • Plan and implement MSF Switzerland’s social media strategy for all French contents
  • Coordinate with Zürich Office to ensure consistency and timely execution on CH Social Media channels
  • Act as a point person and implementer for French activities on Facebook, Instagram, Linkedin and TikTok
  • Monitor daily and run ad-hoc analysis of social media statistics and produce reports
  • Proactively improve and drive MSF’s presences on social media
  • Act as a point person with MSF movement and specially with OCP for social media activities
  • Act as a backup with the other digital project officers

Support

  • Advise, train and guide the other units of the department in their digital activities.
  • Act as a backup with the other digital project officers.

Online Fundraising

  • Support and drive the online fundraising activities in social media and aim at reaching annual objectives in online fundraising.
  • Act as a backup with the other digital project officers.

General

  • Follows the contexts of the countries where MSF intervention takes place.
  • Participates in the development of the annual activity plan of the department.

Your profile

Education

  • University Degree (Masters) in Marketing/Digital Marketing or Communications.

Experience

  • Several years of experience working in digital marketing and/or communications, preferably in the non-profit environment
  • Demonstrable track record of success in past experience

Languages

  • Native French speaker
  • Fluent in English
  • Knowledge German is a plus

Skills / technical competencies

  • Project management, ability to work with a multidisciplinary team, especially for online projects (graphic editors, writers, agencies, etc.)
  • Very comfortable working with multimedia contents
  • Profound understanding of social media (including community management)
  • Good understanding of principles of online advertising and email marketing campaign
  • Good understanding of major digital technologies

Working conditions

  • Open-ended contract
  • Full time (40h/week)
  • Working place: Geneva
  • Ideal Starting date: 04.07.2022
  • Gross annual salary: from CHF 84’814.- to CHF 97’650.- (salary commensurate with equivalent experience and internal salary grid)
